The collapse in 2001 was easy to understand. For whatever reason, Carson Wentz couldn’t mount a passing offense; the Colts adopted a just run the damned ball mentality which worked for a while; but, over the last couple of games, Defenses stacked the box and shut Taylor down.

Last year, Daniel Jones went down, Anthony Richardson went down, Braden Smith went down, DeForest Buckner went down, Sauce Gardner went down, and Charvarius Ward went down. Phillip Rivers was a nice story, but it didn’t take long for opposing Defenses to figure out he couldn’t complete a pass longer than 20 yards. Who knows what might have happened if Richardson doesn’t go down. If you’re tempted to say Quarterback isn’t so important, look no farther than the Chiefs, last year. In the 3 games Mahomes didn’t play, they put up 37 points and racked up 265 total passing yards, less than 90 yards per game.

I get how you folks that believe we were great ‘except for’ think. I tend to agree if it was a one or two off. It isn’t. It is a decade of excuses. I don’t blame anyone for their optimism, nothing wrong with it. I’m just at a point that until this group actually wins something I don’t believe any of the sugar coating. It is the same words followed by the same result year after year. I hope it changes this year but will believe it when it happens

The concept predates and transcends poker, obviously... but Annie Duke popularized the term, "resulting."

One can (should) be able to analyze a given situation without needing to be told the answer first.

Maybe, but my analysis says we will be mediocre to shitty once again. I hope my streak of being incorrect continues and we are great but i have zero confidence in this organization. Why should I? The same group keeps disappointing year after year, keeps saying the same old things every year and end up playing just bad enough to be irrelevant every year. I am sick of it.
