Default Colts vs Rams

Rams Defense is 6th vs the pass, 22nd vs the run
Rams offense is 5th in total yards per game (10th in passing, 9th in rushing)

Colts Defense is 8th vs the pass, 8th vs the run.
Colts offense is 1st in total yards per game (4th in passing, 3rd in rushing)

Rams have given up 12 sacks, the colts 2

- Taylor needs to be effective early in the game, especially on 1st and 2nd down
- Nacua coming out of the slot and with Moore out for a couple weeks is cause for concern... both he and Stafford should be salivating.
- Pass rush needs to step up, especially Latu. He's matched up against Alaric Jackson, who is solid and huge (6-7, 345), but isnt an all-pro LT. Gallimore has a sack FFS.
- Colts just need to stay calm and focus on execution and mistake free football.

The Rams are a good team that had Philly on the ropes until they allowed 12 unanswered points in the 4th.

Other than that, well, they beat the Titans by 14 and the Texans by 5.

We have as much chance to win as they do.

Titans play at Houston, Jags have a tough test in San Francisco. Every game is a must win, but a Colts win and a 49ers win would give us a great "first quarter" of the season.

Our games with the jags are both late in the season, I would love to go into those games with a solid AFC south lead.

Rams have played the Texans, titans and eagles

not exactly the best passing teams. those passing numbers may be cooked a bit on defense

Interesting match-ups everywhere.

Stafford and Nacua blasted us last time. About the worst time to lose Moore. Hopefully Hilton has something. I'm curious how Anarumo uses Ward vs. Nacua and Adams.

I haven't watched LAR's OL yet... will that be struggling vs. struggling with our DL?

Our OL vs. their DL will be good vs. good. Probably the most important matchup of the game.

It was Jalen Hurts' biggest game of the year last week, 3 TDs, no picks, 225 yards.

It is just nice to be playing a 4th game that actually means something (other than dragging ourselves out a a hole) for a change.

It would not surprise me if the Tacks beat Dam's QB and the Texicans.

It appears that Nick Caserio went to the Ryan Grigson school of protecting your franchise QB. I feel bad for Stroud, but definitely a boon for the Colts.

So Pierce, Kenny Moore, and Goncalves have all been ruled out for Sunday.

I didn’t even know Goncalves was hurt?

Goncalves has been dealing with a toe injury. He missed practice all week.

Dalton Tucker will replace him in the line-up this week.

If the Colts lose a close game, well-played game against the Rams I won't be too worried ...... I was more worried about "The Colts being the Colts" in their game against the Titans on Sunday, and shitting the bed against a crappy team, something they have so often done in every season between 2019 and 2024 (with the exception of the 2020 Philip Rivers season.)

So in my rat's ass of an opinion, by winning their opening day-game AND by demolishing a sub-par Titans team to start the season at 3-0, this 2025 Colts team has already shown that they are not the "Typical post-Andrew Luck Colts" ...... they are at least a very solid team, maybe even better than very solid.
