Watching these other teams with guys running in open spaces, catching balls 2-3 yards behind defenders, running in stride after the catch, etc... Outside of Pittman on occasion, that just does not happen here. Going back to Rivers who in some respects had to have guys doing that because of the motion, through Wentz, and now even in the first game with Ryan- still seems like we're seeing the same things, it seems like all our passes are in tough contested pockets and just do not yield a bunch of YAC. Why? Is it scheme, is it a lack of talent? Again, doesn't seem to be tied to the QB or the WR as the names have changed over a ton during the last several years but it always seems to be so difficult for us to get open. Why can't we get open for easy completions? |

I'll give you one example on why TY needs to come back.
On the long incompletion intended for Dulin, TY would not have run that route so flat. He would've cut toward the middle of the field to give Ryan an easier throw and to separate from the defender. Not to mention he would've caught that drop by Pierce in the end zone. |
