Well, that’s an upgrade. Good move Ballard. I’m surprised he wasn’t holding out for a starting job.

Supposedly he also had an offer on the table from Philly and had discussions with New Orleans as well. https://twitter.com/RobMaaddi/status...67775396716619 Quote:

Awesome. A great backup QB.

Interesting. Much cheaper than what Minshew got. Showed he's got enough left to be an effective backup. Could be simple as that...
But it strikes me as locker room value, like he has a connection with someone. Only one I see is between Flacco and Cooter ('20 with NYJ). Does he have history with anybody else on the team? |

So he's spent some time with our HC and OC (and all three are around the same age). |

Good for a short term, but if AR were to sustain a season ending injury again ...
no playoffs for this team.

I wouldn't be so sure...he went 4-1 with the Browns last season down the stretch and is the main reason they made the playoffs. Hopefully AR is not injury prone and last season was a fluke!

Probably true. Although that is likely the case with 90% of backups nowadays. Hell, a sizeable number of STARTING qb's don't have a a realistic chance of leading their teams to the playoffs.
