Falling to 7-7 and losing to yet another good team will unquestionably have the Colts on the outside looking in, needing to win all of their 3 remaining games and hoping like crazy for a lot of help. On the other hand, a win over the Patriots will have them sitting fairly pretty at 8-6 overall with a 2nd signature win of the 2021 season (the 1st was the win over the Bills.)

Regardless of what just happened with the Bills and the Bengals both losing to NFC teams, our season is going to come down to the game against the Patriots.

All season long, we have been like a cat chasing its tail, just a step behind where we need to be in both individual games as well as in the standings ...... and if we lose to the Patriots, it will be more of the same.

So we can scoreboard watch and root against other AFC-contending teams all we want ...... if we lose to the Patriots, it will be just one more example of us being a small step too slow to be regarded as a bona-fide contender for a conference championship.

I hope so ...... I wasn't staking a claim that I think that we'll lose, but rather pointing out the reality that losing that game is not an option for a team that has a record of 7-6.

I definitely appreciate your optimism, but you know that's not going to happen.

Would be hard pressed to script a more beneficial couple of weeks for the Colts. Tons of the right teams losing. Bye week, almost everyone is healthy (Okereke I think is our only scratch). If ever there was a time to show up and show out, it is Sat night!

Why do you say Okereke is out? I didn't see that anywhere.

Gotcha. Apparently he's been sick but I just read that he's playing.
