He did express anger at the Colts for not changing their name and starting as a new franchise after they moved to Indianapolis ...... but just a few years before he died, he talked to a rookie by the name of Peyton Manning immediately after the Colts lost to the Ravens, and told the young man to "stick with it" through that trying first season in which the Colts went 3-13.

Also, Unitas' widow gave Manning major compliments for mentioning Unitas in his retirement speech in March of 2016.
