It's a roster where i feel that a major injury to a key player isn't a reason to suddenly write off the season entirely, including Luck. The next man up is generally not a huge drop off, clearly it would then have an impact on the depth of the roster at positions 50-53.

RB, Mack is top dog, but Ware, Wilkins and Hines although not likely to strike fear into anyone is something we could survive with.

WR, Hilton going down would not be good, but there is certainly growth potential among the rest of the guys. Cain, Campbell both with lots to prove, Funchess has shown to be capable if not spectacular so far, but with Luck hopefully he is going to step up his game.

TE, Doyle/Ebron, we did ok without Doyle for large parts of last year, another season under the belt for Mo Alie-Cox, and the return of Travis would be fine to go with.

OL, top dog is unquestionably Nelson, and i do think we would see a big drop off without him, but we do have some decent depth for our 6th and 7th guys in Haeg and Clark.

DL, i am not sure we really have a No. 1 guy here, but we are about 10 deep, so i wouldn't see this being a game changer.

LB's, losing Leonard, would be a major issue, but we have drafted a few guys who i would hope will generally improve the linebacker play, so the overall impact would be bad, but i think our play will be significantly improved from last year, so the quality would be similar to last year.

CB's, i am not sure who is really our No. 1 guy, Desir, Moore or Wilson, we now have Ya-Sin and hopefully Collins, so i think we wouldn't be significantly worse.

S, Hooker, we have some depth here, but i think he is a bigger player than many think he was last year. We would have Farley back who has seen starting action and played ok, but his skill set is not covering the back end, he is better suited covering for Geathers.

Very true... but I feel that position stuck out the most in the loss to the Chiefs.. the defense did an admirable job at slowing them down. Just our offense sputtered too much.

The fascinating thing will be how the 90 man roster is unfilled and then supplemented further.

Bored so I'm looking at the roster and wondering who is a long shot who actually might make some noise, and not the rookies. I will be following Antonio Garcia, Offensive Tackle. Signed a reserve/future contract. Kind of guy Ballard loves physically. Played at Troy so there is that. Patriots jumped 11 positions to take him in 2017 in the third round. Had blood clots in lung and lost entire first year. Patriots cut him, Jets picked him up cut him and we picked him up. If he is ok from a lung standpoint (so far so good) he has long arms, quick feet and is athletic. It's a long shot but I'm hoping that with coaching he could be something special.

Today the Colts IR'ed UDFA Rookie DE Jegs Jegede.

In a corresponding move, they signed DT Caraun Reid. Reid has previously worn the Horseshoe for an 8 month period back in 2017 - 2018. He was with the team for 2018 training camp before being waived on the final cutdown day.

So Jegs Jegede got hurt and is out for the season. We signed Caraun Reid, a DT, to fill his spot. Reid has been with us before and was also on the Cowboys. So he fits what we want to do. Interesting thing is per PFF, Reid was one of the most disruptive DT’s at the end of last season. He was 5 of the top 5 behind Donald, Jarret, Poona Ford (a guy I wish we drafted two years ago), and Damon Harrison. So Reid bears watching in camp.

Watched some of his video from Princeton. Against lesser talent he seemed a man among boys. Who knows, maybe a find by Ballard that pans out.
