The more I think about this, the more stunning it is. It’s a concession that the team Ballard put together, specifically at offensive line, isn’t good enough for the quarterback they have.

This is 1000 percent Ballards fault. And the sad thing is, the offensive line still can’t block.

So they’re really setting Ehlinger up for failure, not that he would have succeeded anyway.

It’s just mind boggling how far and how fast this season went off the rails. Now we’re down to hoping for a miracle.

With this defense all we need is a QB to manage the fuckon game and not turn the ball over that’s it!!!

RPO should be way more effective and atleast if the play breaks down he can run

First and foremost don’t turn the fuckin ball over

We are getting bantered on AFC south message boards. The other teams are clowning us. Deservedly so I guess. I know I'd be doing the same.

I questioned letting Glo and Reed go, too. But Glo was universally considered to weakest starter on our OL and Reed is a career backup. Pinter had good enough tape last year that it wasn't crazy to pin him in at RG (btw, he looked way better again at center even this year). It didn't work out.

Pryor is the biggest failure on Ballard's resumé. Again, his tape last year didn't translate. We also can't prove a negative in terms of what they tried in free agency. But they did draft Raimann who everybody seemed to like. And he did bring in Kelly.

He's still a free agent. He provided average LT play last year. Can't "prove a negative" by finding out what they tried to do to fix LT, but you certainly can make the criticism that bringing back average LT Fisher would've been by far the better move than gifting the starting LT spot to Matt Pryor based on one start at the end of last season.

Sure, you can. I just said Pryor is his biggest failure and I questioned Glow/Reed. But here's a few things:

1.) Fisher (and by proxy Ballard) was shit on pretty regularly last season. Not a no-brainer to bring him back.

2.) They had 5 starts and 5 more games of 25+% snaps worth of tape on Pryor, even though I know he wasn't exclusively LT. I don't remember him looking like this last season. How could he have?

3.) Fisher also hasn't been signed by any other team that could use "average" LT play. Must be a reason.

4.) There's a difference between criticizing moves that don't work (like you're doing) and calling for Ballard's head while ignoring all the good things that he provided (e.g., virtually the entire defense, Pitt, Pierce, JT, Granson, Woods, etc.).

Excellent points.

Any I'll add that there's the rampant assumption here and elsewhere that if the Colts simply decided to re-sign these guys, they could have. That's not reality. If I recall correctly, the Colts tried to re-sign both Reed (who wanted to return home to Minnesota) and Fisher (who simply chose not to sign). The player has to want to sign here too. Same goes for free agents.

Did anyone here think the O line would be this bad, in both run and pass plays?

If they dont step up their play, Ehrlinger doesnt stand a chance
