I think that because Buckner did not take his time with his recovery and tried to rush back, he may not want to retire.

And if the great DeForest Buckner does call it a career as Bert Jones did after he broke a bone in his neck in the strike-shortened 1982 season, I would be OK with his decision to retire ...... I'm just saying that I don't think that he wants to retire, as he seemed eager to get back to playing in the 49ers game in spite of the fact that he was clearly not 100% healed.
