Granted, the Packers played no starters. But AR made accurate passes. Jones made more bad passes, IMO. His deep ball accuracy stinks.
Good call, that's another thing. From a lay perspective just watching videos... him lack of arm strength seems to make him compromise his mechanics due to the effort on deep balls. Otherwise, he's pretty accurate short to medium. Meanwhile, AR can flick his wrist the same on a 12-yard out as he does on a 40 yard bomb.

So, then you ask, would you rather miss some easy passes to Gidden like AR did today and hope he improves... or settle for Minshew-ball, hit all the short and medium stuff, but play against tighter coverage all the time because the defense doesn't fear you deep.

WTF are you talking about? Daniel Jones 9.2 ypa vs Anthony Richardson 6.6 ypa. Also Jones hit just as many, or more long passes as AR.

it's not an easy choice, but it is the safest choice, for Steichen and Ballard....start Daniel Jones.

Irsay, Steichen and Ballard will make this choice and I believe it will be AR. You draft a guy this raw you know there will be bad times. You need to be willing to ride them out if AR does his part and shows improvement. I think he has. A lot. Jones is only safe if you want to end up midpack.

I don't think the QB actually matters, and that sucks to say. To me, we have 3 of the same guy, all within a pretty narrow band of "meh" and probably would be a difference of maybe 3 games tops between Leonard, Jones, or AR as the QB- and my gut says we will definitely see all three as starters this year, and within the first half of the season. Which brings me to I guess a realization I guess if you want to call it that, about this team.

2 Pre-season games, 20 penalties- 20 fucking penalties. Huge yardage plays, negated by stupid fucking shit. AD Mitchell, seriously, what the fuck is wrong with this dude? Great, he apparently developed some hands, but in turn seems to have lost his fucking mind?

I think Ballard drafts shitty football players because he is obsessed with measurables vs just getting guys that can play ball (damn I hope that is not the case with Warren- he looks like a real football guy) and I don't think Steichen and his crew are any good at all at preparing the team. This team drops fucking balls, they jump offsides, they line up offsides, the hold constantly. It just seems like a very poorly developed and trained crew.

I was listening to the morning show mid week and they were talking about how there is ZERO intensity at all in these structured practices. They were almost mocking how laissez faire the entire camp has been.

So, I think we could have Peyton as QB, and we'd probably win 9 games with this structure. With AR, Danny Dimes and Leonard, I think the ceiling is probably 6 wins. THAT FUCKING SUCKS!

Add in all the fucking injuries, yeah I think we might be looking at 6 wins, and man 8 seems like a big stretch.

Shitcan the whole thing and start over!

I have a feeling it will be Jones. Hope I’m wrong.

Jones played both games with the one's and two's, AR with the scrubs. That leads me to believe that Jones will be the starter. Steichen is not an NFL head coach.

I'm not sure YPA tells about a guy's arm strength or deep accuracy. You throw a RB a 2-yard swing pass and he takes it 70 yards for a TD, your YPA is going to be high. Not to mention we're talking about two drives in a preseason game.

I didn't make it up. Giants reporters always said it, at least after the neck injury. Our reporters have said it all camp.

I do agree he's the safer bet and I think we can win with him. I'm not saying he's Gardner Minshew, but Minshew was also the safer bet with less traits. Minshew hit some long balls for us, but we were pulling our hair out not being able loosen defenses up more by pushing downfield.

I actually preferred Minshew over Jones. Jones seems a little more of a boring guy with no real potential to do anything to rally a team around him.
