One week later, that same Jacoby Brissett-led Colts team beat the eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs ...... on their homefield in Kansas City.

One year earlier in 2018, the Colts, led by their all-world quarterback Andrew Luck, were manhandled by the New York Jets ...... that loss dropped the Colts to 1-5 overall.

After that embarrassingly disastrous loss to the lowly Jets, the Colts won 9 out of their next 10 games to finish the season at 10-6 overall. That streak included wins over the AFC South champion Houston Texans (11-5), the NFC East champion Dallas Cowboys (10-6), and 2 wins over the Tennessee Titans (9-7) which wound up being the difference between the Colts and the Titans making the playoffs.

In that 2019 post-season, the Colts went on the road to Houston and again beat the Texans to advance to the divisional playoff round.

Didn't that 2018 team go like 6 straight games without giving up a sack? How I long for those days.

Yeah, something like that, which is what made Luck retiring crazy ironic since he was sacked the fewest times of anyone in the league in '18.

How many sacks did he have in the 4 previous years. He suffered a lacerated internal organ behind that line

The worst outcome last night was Washington getting a win over the Eagles! It was already going to be a tall order to beat Philly, now we catch them coming off their first loss....not what I was hoping for!

I don't buy the "Well, now they're really mad, so they will play a lot better" sentiment.

That thesis is similar to "Don't say anything bad about the other team to the press, or they'll really be motivated to kick our asses."

The Colts' offensive line is either going to play well and give the Eagles a good game, or they will revert back to the way that they have been playing for 8 out of the first 10 games and get their heads handed to them. And as we saw last night, an offense that functions well with long, sustained drives can help a defense by not having them constantly out there on the field ...... a defense constantly being on the field due to a non-existent offense is what happened when the Patriots annihilated the Colts the week before the Raiders game.

It'll be tough. They're definitely good, but I'm not sure they're quite the juggernaut that 8-0 implies. They've beaten DAL and given MIN their sole loss of the season so far.

Not to downplay them... but the rest of their schedule has been: a split with WAS (5-5) and wins over DET (3-6), JAX (3-7), ARZ (4-6), PIT (3-6) and HOU (1-7-1). Can't control the schedule, but those aren't great teams. Plus, in their past five games, their defense has given up rushing totals of 152, 168, 144, 134, and 124 yards.

Also, our D has been effective in the past at keeping dynamic QB's in the hole. The big issue there is Kwity Paye being injured which will really hurt this week if he's out.

We have a real shot if the OL can string together consecutive games. And more importantly, stop turning the ball over. Because that's one thing PHI has been awesome at. Up until last night, they only had 3 giveaways all season and they were 8-0. Last night, they had 4 and earned their first loss.

I agree with everything you just said. I don't think Eagles are a juggernaut team. They have faced some weak teams for sure and won. Colts have faced some weak teams and lost or tied. Colts beat Chiefs thanks for Jones shooting himself in the foot.

It will come down to can OL hold up to the better DL Eagles team has compared to the other DLines we have folded on. Are Eagles DL great no, but they know how to get at the QB this year.. Is Ryan going to have his earlier turnover stats or is he going to take care of the ball?

I'm rooting Colts no matter what!

Go Colts!!!!

Maybe..... Or maybe they got exposed a little. Can't stop the run and we have the best RB in the game even not at 100%

This could also be a slide for the eagles as in a losing streak..

Well he was sacked 0 times in '17. Obviously he got killed behind the OLs from '12-'16, which is part of the irony.
