While I agree with your line of thinking considering a scenario where Watson would demand a trade to Indianapolis, I would be happy with a 1rst. Not three though.

I'm uncomfortable with where Indianapolis is right now. This is a SB caliber team with a more mobile quarterback - Matt Ryan, Stafford, Rogers, ETC. The guy doesn't have to be Jackson, Allen, or Watson. They don't have the playmakers at receiver to win like Brady can.

I'm worried sick by the time they figure out the QB position Leonard is going to be on his way out in FA, Buckner's best days are going to be behind him, and those solid players like Doyle will have moved on.

Watson can retire. Not only does that give him all the leverage (if he's willing to go through with it), but that's not a bad outcome for the Colts. I doubt he wants to play here, but if he does, he has all the leverage he needs to force his way here and force the Texans to take whatever Ballard offers. He's not coming here in any scenario where he allows the Texans any sort of negotiating power. I keep seeing these huge potential trade offers for him, but think about it from Watson's perspective. If I were Watson and I were as angry at them as he's been portrayed to be in the media, I wouldn't want the Texans to cripple my new team's chances of putting a good roster around me for the privilege of acquiring me, I'd want the Texans to pay for making me angry by not getting anywhere close to fair value from my new team so that my new team could surround me with talent at the Texans expense. I'd also want to force them to trade me to their most hated division rival so I could haunt them for the next decade plus. Maybe he's not that vindictive, but I think these rumors of a blockbuster return for the Texans are foolish. If Watson truly hates them, he'll want to do damage on the way out. That will include forcing them to take a meager return.
