The Eagles are $70M over the 2021 cap right now, so big changes are coming and they are facing a rebuild. As I mentioned above, getting rid of Wentz won’t help the 2021 cap all that much, but it WILL dramatically improve future years. If he’s traded, he’ll still count $33.8M against the 2021 cap, but that will be the end of it for the Eagles. If he stays, however, he’ll count $34.6M against the 2021 cap AND he’ll chew up a minimum of $39.5M in future cap space, and probably more. By keeping him, they actually worsen (slightly) their 2021 cap situation, AND handicap future years as well. All to keep a disgruntled QB they see as a backup.

Put another way, imagine Jacoby Brissett chewing up $30M+ of the Colts cap on a rolling forward basis over the next several years. If another team approached you and inquired about a trade that could limit that damage to a single year, how strongly would you insist on a high-round draft pick in return? I don't think you would at all. I think you’d be willing to settle for just about anything, even one of Tom Brady's old, deflated footballs. Certainly, in absolute terms, Brissett is worth far more than an old, deflated football, but really that’s not the point – it’s the opportunity to avoid the cap damage that he causes as a backup QB making a premium salary which reduces his value to that amount.
Fine, you've convinced me, let's go after Wentz and Fletcher Cox for a 3.

I keep coming around to Mac Jones. He might be the only QB left. People compare him to Burrow but Burrow’s accuracy is better and he threw into tighter windows. Jones’ guys are open a lot. But what I do like about him is he never seems to get flustered and is laser focused. See how he does in the championship game.

I think QBs are going to go fast next draft. Eagles could even pick one. And Dolphins might even pull a Cardinals move and draft another because Tua seems slow to progress. If we are hoping for a Trey Lance, going to have to trade up. Might even have to trade up for Mac Jones.

Wont be more than 4 QB's taken in the 1st round Just sayin Other position BPA will outweigh a chance at drafting a QB

Still a little early to say anything definitively. As things are now I see 4 QBs in the first 15. I can see Mac Jones anywhere between 15-45. Depends who likes him.

I don’t know about six, seems a little high. Who was 5 and 6 after Love? You can probably find someone to say just about anything. But Love ended up being a first and there was a lot of debate on that. Eason also fell a lot further than people expected.

This year doesn’t look as deep to me as other years. No seemingly top end pass rusher, no top end Dt’s. One top o-tackle then a tier below. Not sure who the top CB is, maybe Surtain but I have seen him in the teens. Not a great year bc of covid. What I have read is NFL seems higher on Jones than the media. Still, very early in the process, we got a lot of potential mid round QBs too in this draft.

I wouldn't hate that, but it would leave a glaring need at LT.

Sure, but good luck getting the Eagles to go for that.
