Stop kicking Luck when the D couldnt get a stop in the second half against the Steelers.

Luck had every right to retire and I dont blame his decision.

Yes, the D fell apart last week.

Irsay made a bad choice with gm and coach, then made it worse by sticking with them.

All true. But to say that suddenly losing your young, rising, franchise level QB didnt set the team back is foolish. Of course it set us back.

I do think we are the kind of team 'built' to beat the Chiefs. We have an offensive line that if it is producing like it can gives us a running game that keep their offense off the field. When the defense gets on the field it won't stop them cold (nobody will) but it is capable the occasional stop and of slowing them down. With a more mobile qb we might even stand a chance in a shootout-might. Long shot but if we get into the playoffs you never can tell.

I think the author is really stretching things here. This is the Rivers comment that his article is centered upon:

Quote:
Stephen Holder of The Athletic reported that the idea of Rivers potentially playing in his last game crossed his mind.

"If things don't go go the way you want this weekend, it could be... I guess it's healthy to have that thought because we're not guaranteed anything going forward," Rivers told Holder.
I read that more as a "tomorrow is promised to no man" type of statement, not any sort of indication that he's contemplating retirement, or that he won't be asked back.
