It's always seemed odd to me that Luck is obviously this super smart QB, and until this year, no coach had really thought to give him much freedom to operate at the line. That's not just on Pagano either.
Coaches are a weird bunch. And not always as smart as you would think given their status and pay. A lot of control freaks and meat heads in there. There is a reason Belichick runs circles around a lot of the league.
