Yeah, I don't think that's actually a thing.
My take is that draft picks are luck of the draw and GMs get lucky and look fantastic for a few years bc they happen to hit on a few great players in that span ...look again five years later, and they're unnoticeable ...or out of a job.
Is any team systematically "hav[ing] good draft picks"? I recall the Pats missing out on tons of picks; Brady & Belichick have covered a multitude of sins. What happened to Seattle's D? Did they all of a sudden forget how to "have good draft picks"?
I'm leaning toward thinking the coach is the real difference-maker here who can make or break careers.
A Big F-U to Pagano merits mention here because of a wasted season.
