I know that he that he didn't actually earn the bonus to the letter of the law. Granted that these 2 situations have several significant difference in terms of the actual circumstances.

Comiskey choosing to not give Cicotte his bonus back then was a lot more mean-spirited and underhanded than if Irsay were to choose to do the same and not give Vinatieri his bonus now ........ but the general idea is the same.
