I think it is a little different situation because Haliburton strained his right calf which was definitely a precursor to the right Achilles injury.
Jones had been playing through an injury to his left leg and then suffered the right Achilles injury.
Sure, you could say that Jones was compensating for his left leg injury which led to different movements and the Achilles injury on the opposite leg...that can happen although it is less common than further injuring the same leg. But I also wonder how much the weather and field conditions played a factor. It was raining and they should have prepared for wet field conditions. So he was probably wearing something different than what he typically wears when playing in good weather or indoors. And picking the wrong cleats for the conditions can sometimes cause Achilles injuries, too.
