If, like me, you believe Jones isn’t the long term answer, today’s events, as much as they suck, are better for the long term health of the team.
For one, it makes it less likely that they sign Jones to a big money long term deal, which I think would be a huge mistake. Also, they at least get to see what they have in Leonard, as much of a long shot as that is.
Also, it takes some of the sting out of what was going to be a collapse anyway.
The early part of the year was fun though.

I was never on the Jones is the man wagon, but I also understood he wasn't the biggest problem. Who knows with Leonard. He didn't have a horrible game while he was in. I'm sure they scaled the playbook back a lot. Hell, Brady was a late round pick, Purdy was a late round pick. Get him some practice with the 1's and open up the playbook and see if he can do it. Only way to truly find out. Until our defense figures out how to get off the field we are stuck in mediocrity. Might as well see what we have. If he ain't it, or doesn't look like he might be it, then pay Daniels a mid tier QB salary and move on past the not having any first round picks for the next two years.
