I don't think that the Colts' defense played as good as they appeared to play in the 1st half, and I also don't think that they played as badly as they appeared to play in the 2nd half ...... I'll explain.

The Chargers were so far behind on the scoreboard in the 2nd half that they went for it on 4th down l 4 TIMES l when they ordinarily would not have done so if the game were closer ...... if this had been a close game, the Chargers would have kicked a field goal and punted 3 times on those 4th downs. But they were so far behind and had nothing to lose, so the Colts' defense had to essentially make 4 extra stops than they ordinarily would have.

So in my rat's ass of an opinion, Justin Herbert's 420 yards passing is not necessarily all that alarming when taking into consideration the circumstances surrounding those gaudy statistics ...... yes, the Colts' defense did not play as well in the 2nbd half as they did in the 1st half, but they also were in completely different situations in those 2 halves.

There is truth in there, but the brutal reality is there is nothing coming off the edge, nothing and with the backfield just a complete patchwork, this defense is very very pourous and will be our downfall if we don't find something better to give us at least some element of pressure. The offense is great, but they are NOT going to be putting up 40 points in every game.
