Philip Rivers had the mobility of a statute at that point in his career, and there is almost no way that he would have survived that season without getting killed, let alone led the team to an 11-6 record and a playoff berth. Philip Rivers had one of the best offensive lines in all of football blocking for him, which is the complete opposite of the line that Matt Ryan had "blocking" for him. I believe that if Matt Ryan had had Philip Rivers' elite offensive line blocking for him, the Colts likely would have had a record of about 11-6, just like it was when Philip Rivers was here in 2020.

Wentz was clearly not it going forward, so the Colts were quick to part ways with him, and went the veteran route again with former Falcons’ quarterback Matt Ryan, following the same path that helped the Colts make the playoffs in 2020. It was all nice in theory, but in practice it never materialized,
l as the offensive line issues nearly got Matt Ryan, and then Nick Foles, murdered, l and the Colts had their worst season since the 2-14 year that resulted in Andrew Luck.
