Tyquan Lewis

PFT reporting that he will be out 8 weeks with his foot injury. Will it ever end??

HoosierinFL 08-30-2018 12:12 PM

I don't know if its concerning how many of Ballard's picks get injured, but so far:
Hooker, Lewis, Turay, Leonard, Mack, Walker, Fountain
edit: Cain, not Fountain

Really? Things happen. By the way some of those guys should be ready for the season.

Is panic common around here?

No, good judgement on my part. If I pick 12 wins and they don't make the playoffs its my fault. I pick one game, they have no where to go but UP

What panic? I merely said I don’t know if it’s concerning not ‘holy shit Ballard drafts undersized injury prone busts, 0-16, we are wasting Luck!!!’

JAFF 08-31-2018 05:18 PM

Real panic is

Hypothetically, how would a GM go about preventing his draft picks from getting injured? Seems rather common throughout the league IMO

Easy: have more good draft picks. No one cares if a rotational interior DL is injured if the rest of your DL is Freeney, Mathis etc.

Yeah, I don't think that's actually a thing.

My take is that draft picks are luck of the draw and GMs get lucky and look fantastic for a few years bc they happen to hit on a few great players in that span ...look again five years later, and they're unnoticeable ...or out of a job.

Is any team systematically "hav[ing] good draft picks"? I recall the Pats missing out on tons of picks; Brady & Belichick have covered a multitude of sins. What happened to Seattle's D? Did they all of a sudden forget how to "have good draft picks"?

I'm leaning toward thinking the coach is the real difference-maker here who can make or break careers. A Big F-U to Pagano merits mention here because of a wasted season.

Anxious to see what Reich does.

Do whatever you want, play with your root for all I care.
Butter was a newb when I was, wasn't really talking or commenting about you to begin with.
Personally I am not near as optimistic as some of these guys. I said 7 and 9 and that was a reach.
