Colts Trade Antonio Morrison to Packers for CB Lenzy Pipkins

The #Packers have traded CB Lenzy Pipkins to the #Colts for LB Antonio Morrison, sources told The Athletic. Pipkins had been running with the third- and fourth-string corners during camp after a strong end to last season.


I don’t know anything about Lenzy Pipkins and I don’t care.

Good riddance to Antonio Morrison.

Morrison led the Colts with 100 + tackles last year. He also managed to get on the field.

The Pack think they he fits, and the Colts get something for someone who was probably getting cut. Not a bad deal

Morrison was just too slow for this defense.

In a pre-draft post, I looked at all the combine/pro-day 40 dash times for the LBs on the roster and the top rookies. They want SPEED on this defense.

40 times of all our current LBs:

Skai Moore = 4.73
Darius Leonard = 4.70
Jeremiah George = 4.66
Anthony Walker = 4.65
Tyrell Adams = 4.65
Najee Goode = 4.64
Matthew Adams = 4.63
Zaire Franklin = 4.62

Antonio Morrison = 5.10 (One of these is not like the others.......)

Too slow; he was getting cut regardless. Glad we got a bit more than a ham sandwich for him. Who knows? Perhaps the new guy was just being misused by the Pack. He could be our Jerry Hughes........

I'm pretty optimistic on the guy. He's physical, plays pretty smart.

I don't get it. I haven't seen anything to indicate our defense isn't physical or smart.
Young and inexperienced? heck yea.
Lacking elite-level talent? definitely.

It’s going to take a little time to rid this defense of Pagano’s influence. The lack of physicality has been quite evident when it comes to run defense in particular. I do agree with your observations regarding the challenges of youth and lack of playmakers. I do think we are trending in the right direction though.

Probably. What's the harm? Don't be surprised if the extra kicker they have been carrying gets traded for a pick. The kid has a huge leg, and he keeps hitting FG's. I dont remember him kicking off, but he can score points.

There are teams who have kicking problems, if you get a 7th pick, it's $$ in the bank.

Bears fans have been complaining about their kicker situation since Gould left. Start with them.

Depends on how many teams NEED help. He goes out on the open market, and there's more than one team who still needs a kicker, someone is going to get left standing when the music stops.

Granted, most years, the extra kicker gets cut. They should let this kid do all the kicking for AV for the last game. Who knows?
