Start Anthony Richardson now

Start AR.Sick of watching that overpaid (deer in the headlights] Daniel Jones. AR might suck, but it would make it a whole lot more interesting to me. If Jones continues to start, I'm done watching the Colts this year.

This might be Carly laying a trap for SS to step in. Her wording spoke to a process of change that needed to start now. Steichen to me just whiffed on the very first question on the test- are YOU willing to change? I don't think he will, I don't think he can, he seems to be all in on the Dimes train. That's a loser's bet.

Expectation= Dimes struggles against that defense (they've freakin' given up 64 points in 5 games!). Monday morning Shane is sent packing and Dimes is sat down.

Maybe....more than likely she just didn't want to fire them both at the same time, I think Steichen knows he will be replaced as soon as a new GM is named! I don't even think Steichen is a good OC, watch the league prove me wrong and someone snatches him up right away!:D

Steichen can design brilliant plays. He doesn’t seem to be nearly as good at making adjustments, especially in game, when defenses make their adjustments to him. My biggest bitch, and I think they are related, is his inability to be flexible enough in his scheme to get the 11 (he is also half a head coach as the defense seems to be Lou’s) best players on the field, much like Lou. Maybe he has charisma when the cameras are off but when they are on he sure as hell doesn’t. Most likely he’s toast.

I live in Eagles country.

Shane Steichen was exceptionally good in Philadelphia. He is widely considered one of the best offensive coordinators in recent franchise history, and his performance as a play-caller is what directly earned him his head coaching job.

The main reasons his tenure was so highly regarded include:

• Quarterback Development: He was instrumental in transforming Jalen Hurts from an unproven second-year quarterback into an MVP runner-up and Pro Bowler.

• Elite 2022 Offense: In 2022, Steichen took over primary play-calling duties. He engineered an offense that ranked 3rd in the NFL in scoring (28.1 points per game) and 3rd in total yards (389.1 per game), setting several franchise records.

• Historic Rushing Attack: Over his two seasons (2021–2022), Philadelphia ranked 1st in the NFL in rushing yards per game (153.6), total rushing yards (5,224), and rushing touchdowns (57).

• Super Bowl Performance: Even though the Eagles lost Super Bowl LVII, Steichen's offense executed beautifully on the biggest stage, putting up 35 points and 427 total yards against the Kansas City Chiefs.

I may be in the minority here, but I don't want to see Shane fired. I have a minor beef with him still believing in Danny pennies, and hope he gives AR a chance. He truly can't do any worst than Daniel and even if he does, games will be more exciting, at least for me. If AR has not improved, then move on from both of them. There has to be another Brock Purdy somewhere.

You make excellent points, but at least lately, I have not been impressed with his play calling. It's not just poor execution by the players, I see very little imagination, and we have all commented on the brain dead runs up the middle when our opponent is stacking the box. Our redzone offense has been a joke this season. I can't see how the well deserved firing of Ballard, as great for this organization as that is, is going to make Shane a better head coach.

I don't know if you are in the minority or not, but I will be shocked if the new GM doesn't fire him, for no other reason than that he wants his own guys in there.

ChoppedWood 10-20-2026 06:55 PM

My shock will be if he is there for the firing by a new GM. I don't see a scenario where he survives the season. We are going to get cooked in a few of these games. Reading comments on SM in all these Colts posts about the firing of Bullshit Ballard, man the knives are out for Steichen just as much. People are fed the hell up with his same bullshit about cleaning things up, fixing things, etc... He sounds like a damn Pagano clone with that shit, and no one wants to hear that bs. People want to hear "so and so, will no longer be starting, and so and so will be in his place, there are consequences to not doing your job". That's never going to come out of his mouth- and in particular not for his boy Dimes.

I think he was a great offensive coordinator and probably still is, I think the HC seat is way too big for him and he can't do it all. It happens, happens a lot, in all walks of work life, shine like a diamond at your job and suddenly you deserve to have the spot on the next rung, but when you get there you realize there's just too much to it and you can't do it all so you fail at everything. That's what he looks like to me.

ZionsvilleColtsFan 10-20-2026 09:27 PM

Colts have nothing to lose. Playoffs are a pipe dream, start AR and see how the chips fall.

DragonTails 10-20-2026 09:45 PM

I want SS gone, too. Maybe he’s a good OC, but we’ll never know here. He sucks as a HC.

Clean house including DJ. I don’t see that happening until 2-6 or so worse.

FU SS. Let’s stop taking Philly coaches please.

apballin 10-20-2026 10:56 PM

If Jones isn’t protecting the ball which he’s clearly not then Richardson is the better option to truly threaten the defense

albany ed 10-21-2026 07:06 AM

It appears that the majority of fans on this board are ready for a change. It started with Ballard being fired. The majority of fans here want to see it continue. Fans last week weren't booing the Colts, they were booing the performance. Poor management, terrible coaching and lousy leadership. None of these things are repairable, they need to be replaced. Fans are pissed and rightfully so. Ownership needs to demonstrate that she understands this and take action. If changing QBs makes things worse, I believe fans will understand that and applaud that an attempt was made.

I for one am tired of seeing that puppy dog I just peed on your rug face that Jones makes as he trots off the field after another fuck up.

You're the leader CW. You've been hammering this management over and over again for a long time. Point made, most, if not all the membership is with you.

Good to see us all showing the fighting spirit, hopefully somehow our willingness to fight translates to the dudes in blue! Not sure, actually pretty sure, just the removal of the GM doesn't by default get it back, but it definitely has to start some people in the org to recognize the calls for immediate improvement are real and not just some bs buzzwords!

HoosierinFL 10-21-2026 09:58 PM

No more glorified OCs as coach.

This idea of the HC calling plays is the dumbest thing.

He needs to delegate that to the actual OC who can concentrate on the offense.

By trying to call plays he is not able to focus on bigger HC concerns, or while dealing with HC concerns he cant focus enough on the offense.

Its so dumb. The HC needs to be CEO and delegate to the coordinators.

Reich and Steichen both tried and failed at doing this.

They think they are offensive geniuses and maybe they are at play design and schemes, but they are still dumb as shit.

No more dumb shit.

Methinks Shane will remain hard headed and start Jones both against Minny and Dallas. If we lose both matches, I think the heat will be too great and Jones will ride the pine a bit (if not already injured) and AR will get a start.

Frankly Jim Bob Cooter should be pushing Shane to get some time calling plays as I think he will be in HC considerstions soon and Shane should start thinking about his legacy and further develop Jim Bob. Surely they must be reading that writing on the walls.

Just sayin....

You are giving Shane a lot of credit for thinking big, given what we've observed to this point in his tenure- not sure Shane seems much beyond what to have for breakfast each morning.

The offense is moribund absent Pierce and Warren (hell it's pretty milqtoast even with them sadly [SS that's a red dot on your head]. So, we have a guy that is maybe the fastest player on either roster in pads, he might be as big or even bigger than some of the DE's we will face, he has shown he can throw the ball 70 yards falling backwards... yep, that's a real curve ball to have to defend against all the sudden on a 2nd and 6 from the 40... NOPE, nope, nope, hell no we aren't gonna have him in a surprise wildcat, not going to line him up as a tailback, not going to put him in the slot, not going to have him drop back and throw it 80 yards, not going to.... NOT GOING TO DO SHIT! That's what we are going to do! We got Dimes, and he's a good buddy of mine so he is our guy!

FU Steichen, time for you to hit the street too.
