Please burn this shit down!

Been doing this shit for decades, been on this train / bus for as long as I have memories. I cannot tolerate this shit any longer. We have had some teams that were considerably worse, some teams that you knew going in, they were going to get smoked. Yet we have never as long as I have been a fan of this organization been this uninspiring, it needs to be put to rest.

CHANGES ARE MANDATORY! Give us something to fucking care about, give us some coaches that we can get behind, give us some players that give a fuck, give us a GM who actually understands football.

THIS SUCKS, THIS SUCKS MORE THAN AT ANY POINT IN COLTS HISTORY! CHANGES HAVE TO BE MADE!

nate505 10-11-2026 05:10 PM

I agree in a general sense, but they don't have a lot of assets to burn everything completely to the ground.

They should just start the purge. Fire Ballard, Steichen, Lou right now- there is ZERO advantage to keeping any of the three any longer than 6 PM this evening- we are a lame duck org at this point, it's not like we need to hold on to some false hope that we can be something yet this year- we can't and ignoring that as a leader / owner is dumb.

This week before the deadline move anyone and everyone that you can short of Downs, Warren, Haulcy and of course Pierece (who if he wasn't injured- move him as well). Just go all the way to the ashes and start from there. Get a whole new GM and coaching tandem, a ton of fresh young players, and just start building from the ground up. Our negotiating power is weak, but it isn't nil, Q, TJ, Buck can get some return, Latu isn't great but he's a 1st round pass rusher. Fuck a couple teams would probably even be willing to give us a candy bar for Dimes.

Just make the moves and start stockpilng picks, we have to add young assets and build from them, what we have now is a mismatched mess of shit and there is absolutely zero directional momentum- GET THIS SHIT OVERWITH!

Start with the goal in mind- the # 1 pick in 2028 draft and getting a fucking QB.

STOP DOING THIS SAME SHIT--- IT SERVES NO PURPOSE AND THE FANBASE IS ABANDONING THIS SHIT!

I would take the rest of the season to see what we have in AR.

Thorgrim 10-11-2026 05:48 PM

Chop, I agree in large part but I guess I’m a bit more forgiving than you. Firing the front office and coaches so quickly might be a rash decision. I’d let them stick around till at least 6:30.

I appreciate your rational approach, good to have a counter balance in moments of anxiety that can often cause knee jerk reactions!

Oldcolt 10-11-2026 06:05 PM

We are bad but this isn't close to the worst point in Colts history. And don't start with the goal of being the worst team in football, hire people who only think about winning and would vomit rather than play for the number one draft choice, This team has some decent players. Team needs direction and leadership, we don't seem to have either. I would like Shane to be aggressive and see if AR can do anything (it would be a minor miracle if a high draft choice was ever developed on this club-this group is proven incapable to the max at that) but i believe Steichen is incapable of that kind of ballsy move. We will suffer through this year and hopefully the next regime will be better. This should have been done last year, not monday morning QBing either, a ton of us saw this coming when they decided to roll with DJ and Ballard/Steichen again. I feel for you Chopped, I'm just emotionally wrung dry by the repeated same story over and over and over, and cant muster up the anger.

Shane’s never gonna bench his buddy

This is Reich and Wentz all over again, we’ve seen this movie before.

albany ed 10-11-2026 06:09 PM

I can't wait until we play the Texans again so I can see Marvin Harrison Jr. put up huge numbers, making his Dad smile.

Well, he is a bargain this year, only 19 million cap hit. It's next year that will really suck, 46 million cap hit. And, AR will be gone as a free agent.

Mr. Session 10-11-2026 07:20 PM

It’s hard to make these changes in season, imo. However, I’d give Shane another year because this isn’t going anywhere anyway.

Look for the new GM now. Have things prepped and ready to go ASAP. Tell him the first year is his to fuck everything up as much as he needs. Get Nelson, Taylor, and any other vet worth anything the fuck out of here wherever the fuck they want to go. Take whatever people offer. In between guys like Pierce, get value but if you can’t, keep them.

Come into next year with Steichen and Jones and hang their assess out to dry. If they are worth anything they’ll prove it then. They can blow it, which is fine, and we’ll be in a good draft position for 2028.

Yes. 2027 will suck, but they can at least sell hope in that they’re building towards something.

Lov2fish 10-11-2026 08:43 PM

We have a couple young pieces worth hanging onto. I would completely gut this team as its built. We are not even mediocre. Those calling for AR to play, stop it. He sucks. Jones sucks, Riley sucks. We are in QB purgatory! We will gain absolutely nothing from starting him. Still a loss on Sunday. Watching one exciting play followed by 137 missed 5 yard slants are not going to solve this shit. We are 5 games in and you can see some players are going to be mailing it in the rest of the way. We need to get rid of those cancerous assholes too! Now, end of the year, or when? I guess it is gonna suck, but I still have a deer stand to go to and find solace in my Sunday.

I disagree. We actually will gain something by starting him: absolute confirmation of whether he can play or not, a clearer direction for the front office, and a better draft position if things go south.

You say we will gain nothing from playing AR—I say we have absolutely nothing of value left to lose this season anyway. Might as well find out exactly what we have before the draft.

Side note: the defense is garbage too.

I am in favor of playing him just for the uncertainty that he brings. Yep, a ridiculous roller coaster with a bunch of valleys, but shit, at least there would be SOME exciting plays / games. What we have now is not just predictable and boring, it is insulting.

We know exactly what we have, and he was beat out by Jones. Pre-Draft tape didn't lie, and him on the field only confirmed what was seen on tape. That is an indictment on the Ballard regime and not AR. More losses just help the Jets. Remember they hold our first pick this year due to the perfect fleece job they perpetuated against Ballard for Burnt Sauce.

CletusPyle 10-12-2026 07:24 AM

Is there anyone out there that actually cares about this franchise enough to help Carlie choose front office replacements? Peyton doesn't give a fuck about Indy anymore, he's a Denver Bronco! Polian is too old to be of much help. Her most important hire is a new GM and she is going to need advice from people that actually care about the Indianapolis Colts and their future. If they can find the right guy it can make all the difference! I wonder who her advisers are right now? Sadly I think she still sees Ballard as her only choice....isn he going to pick his own successor?

Fuck, by deduction, Malik Hooker is the next Colts GM.

Yea this the main thing I agree with.
I don't see an advantage to firing all the coaches or GM mid-season. That just creates a shitshow ala Jeff Saturday.

I can't get behind DJ being a franchise QB. AR can only get better by playing and so either he can be the QB of the future or we're going to need to draft someone. I'm afraid though that without a top pick, we'll be left with rolling with AR/DJ one more year or picking up Kirk Cousins or Matthew Stafford instead.

perhaps fortunately, there are no NFL quality QBs coming out of college this year.

Hoopsdoc 10-12-2026 08:44 AM

Changes should and will be made but they should be made after the season.

Carlie needs to ask every potential GM hire one question-how are you going to get a franchise quarterback?

Because that’s all that matters. Without a quarterback, everything else is meaningless.

Oldcolt 10-12-2026 10:00 AM

Carly will have zero trouble finding a GM. No dude worth his salt will give a shit we are crap and don't have a first round draft choice. You need an ego to run an NFL team, these guys need to believe in themselves. Its a crap shoot in any event. Team need a total metal shift. I would love to see someone actually set the goal as a Super Bowl win, not just making the fucking playoffs as what we as a team shoot for. Playoffs need to be a given in their minds. It all starts with Carly, lets hope we have a good one with her.

The Bills and Bears guys both sound really intriguing. Stay far away from the Eagles analytics guy from Harvard- we're dying under the weight of what appear to be some really smug analytics based morons (why do we keep repeating the sins of the past?).

At this point, given what we really need is a full blown culture remake, give me the grizzled vet in Agnew. A football lifer who might come in and get a little Polianesque in his waning years- get aggressive and get the fuck out of my way type. Let Carly interact with someone that will probably say "let me tell you how these guys really think and this is how we fire them up" vs right now what seems to be a culture of "me and Shane want them to think like this, so we're having to do a lot of training with them, to get them to see things the right way; Lou's system is great, it really is, they just need help to see it that way".

Then go get someone in the Shanahan coaching tree, or get one of Cigs coordinators, or fucking give Freeman 1/4 ownership of the franchise to leave ND. Get a HC and some coordinators that aren't fascinated with insane complex bullshit and finesse but instead just like to fucking get in street fights because they will punch you in the nuts and bash your head in with a brick while you sit there scrutinizing every step looking for an "advantage".

OVERHAUL THIS SHIT NOW! GET REAL FOOTBALL PEOPLE IN HERE!

This idea is sort of like sitting down in the bath tub and slitting your wrists because the ice maker went on the fritz.

When you burn down the house, all you’re left with is a pile of smoking crud and a bag of marshmallows. You had a home, and you traded it away for a chance to unroll a sleeping bag under some highway underpass.

It’s been tried before, with scant success.

Oldcolt 10-12-2026 03:43 PM

I'm for burning down the house but saving some of the furniture. We need better players, we have got to draft better, but we have some really good players to build on. Defensively we are a mess but there is a lot to like about the offense. Unfortunately QB isnt one of them. Still, turn arounds happen all the time in the NFL and given new attitudes and a couple of decent drafts anything can happen. So keep the players who want to and can play but get rid of people who put this (and the last decade of teams) team together. That is what i see when i hope we burn the house down.

I agree, let's give Ballard more time!

Colts And Orioles 10-12-2026 04:35 PM

I'm all for burning down Lucas Oil Stadium, keeping all of the players, and making them play 17 road games every year ...... and tell them that when they manage to make the postseason, Carlie Irsay-Gordon will build them a new stadium so that they can have their home games back.
