Looks like Richardson broke his finger
Maybe just dislocated, but the pinky finger on his throwing hand looked like it was sticking out at a 90 degree angle in the wrong direction.
|
Because, of course.
|
Looks like promising rookie JT just got hurt in absolutely no time to have anyone that might even fucking even play a singe down in the regular season time.
Fuck me... |

This might necessarily not be a change in the team's plans, since it's possible that Daniel Jones may have beaten him out for the starting position anyway. It's better to break his finger in the 1st pre-season game than to break his ankle in the last pre-season game ...... Richardson should be ready to play in about the 2nd or 3rd game of the season if we need him. So, we'll start the season with Daniel Jones at QB ...... and if he gets hurt, we'll have Richardson waiting in the wings ...... and if Richardson gets hurt, we can always try to coax Bert Jones out of retirement. o |
According to Steichen he dislocated his finger. Which is presumably better than breaking it.
He had no idea how long he’ll be out but you definitely get the sense they’re rolling with Jones. |
Year three and my man can't read a defense.
|
He's a one hit wonder.
One hit and you wonder how long he'll be out. |

X-rays were good. He might not miss much practice time for this injury. https://x.com/Schultz_Report/status/1953804330559066445 Quote:

Who was the RB on that play. If AR is looking left, that's the primary target area. A RB running a route to the right should have at least chipped the pass rusher, it seems to me.

With that front showing, the Sam/Mike three yards off, he should've been looking right first knowing that RB and Warren were not staying to block. He started left, and lo and behold, the Sam/Mike came on the blitz, leaving Ojabo unabated with a rocket up his ass. |
I think the RB probably should have chipped, but AR definitely was locked on to routes to his left and had no idea it was coming, and it wasn't even a blind-side hit. So the chip likely would have made no difference if the back did it

AR said he thought the Nickel was where the pressure might come from, so he never looked right. Luckily there was no break or tear. He'll be sore, but he's not out. He said he couldn't squeeze right away, but after a few plays, he was ready to go back out. |

Tackling was again- dogshit! The penalties continue to be huge problem for this team. Special teams, holy shit! Yeah, not impressed at all with this team's execution in some real basics. |

I'm starting to believe that AR will never be successful QB in the NFL. |

He’s a lost cause at this point. In fact, I’d rather they rolled with Jones. |
People all over the net are overreacting to this. Yes he messed up. To me what matters is does he learn from this or does he keep messing up. I still think to bailing on AR now is too early. We invested heavily with the 4th pick and two years of play so far with him. Nobody is going to win anything with Jones. His dinking and dunking is the offensive equivalent of Eberfluss/Bradly defense as far as irritating to watch and try to get behind. I agree it doesn't look very good right now. I still think there is a nonzero chance AR hits and we need to continue to ride this.

Regarding the chip, I don't think that it would have prevented the sack, but it is possible that it would have been the difference between Richardson getting demolished like he did and Richardson just receiving an ordinary tackle/sack ...... David Ojabo was going full speed with no impediment right from the snap of the ball until he met Richardson ...... a chip would have made him start his momentum over again a couple of steps closer to Richardson than from where he originally started his route to the quarterback. o |

Getting him to play well will be hard enough. Getting him to play well AND stay healthy will be next to impossible, in my opinion. I just don’t see it happening. They won’t give up on him. I’m not saying they should. I’m just saying I will be STUNNED if he ever amounts to anything. |

The AR injury concerns are warranted, for sure. I'm not sure this play should necessarily exacerbate that beyond the initial facepalm.
It's preseason, so they're not going to play through much of anything. We already lived through the apocalypse when he missed like three days of mini camp with soreness. Now the world ended again, except he's full participation at practice two days later. The thing to worry about on the play is the missed read. He needs the continued experience. |

Where are these different angles available to watch in which you can see that his right pinky was injured due to a slap at the defender's hand ??? o |

Probably not, but hey, I still want to have faith in this guy. |

He was back at practice so I like hearing that

1. Unless AR's hand was hit by the helmet or perhaps the shoulder pad of the defender, or AR was breaking his fall, then I don't see anything that suggests that the injury was a result of the hit itself. I see no video evidence, that any of the above occurred. 2. What player in their right mind, who has a painfully injured hand, then takes said injured hand just to slap an opponents hand away, risking further injury? |
Kurt Warner with a pretty good breakdown of the play here:

Where on youtube do you see these different angles that you said there were? I couldn't find various angles of the hit. You recommended that I watch it from all of the angles, so just tell me a specific video/videos in which I can see these various angles that you say shows Richardson slapping at the defender's hand with his own right hand. I'm not doubting that you saw it, I would just like to see it, too. o |

Thanks. o |
As ugly as it looked and as bad as it seems hopefully that woke him up to start the season. Good thing is he took the shot and bounced up he won’t get hit much harder than that. While I was hoping to see the guy march effortlessly down the field and get a TD on the opening drive, the protection will be solid and the play calls will be totally different when all the starters are in there.
Crazy as it is to say this, there’s still reason for optimism |
I seen a different look after he took that hit, when he was standing on the sidelines afterwards I seen the eye of the tiger. Let’s see what happens next week now… cue the song

Let's just get the best pick

Done. I was in Denver

JT passed

The pick 6 I saw coming

(vs. PACKERS, 8/16) ) [Exhibition Game] I just tuned in when I saw that the Colts were playing today. Very late in the first half on 3rd down and 2 from deep in their own territory, Richardson shook off a tackler and threw a pass downfield which the receiver caught over his shoulder, ala Dave Casper's "Ghost-to-the-Post" catch ...... the play was nullified because one of the Colts' players lined up offsides to start the play, but both Richardson and the receiver looked very good on the play. o |
