Pretty amazing numbers from Pittman considering the instability at the QB position during his Colts tenure.

Colts WR Michael Pittman Jr.:

- passed Marvin Harrison for most receptions by Colt in first 4 seasons (311)

- joined Marv as only Colt with 10+ receptions, 100+ yards in consecutive games

- 8+ receptions in 5 straight games, tied for second-longest streak in club history

As you saying considering who he has had throwing the ball to him, his numbers are amazing, still give me the original Marvin Harrison any day of the week please.

Scary to think how good his defense could be if they had a half decent offense to allow them to rest.

i thought paye really played well down the stretch yesterday. been wanting to see it

AlwaysSunnyinIndy 12-04-2023 07:43 PM

According to ESPN Stats & Information:

With Michael Pittman Jr notching 105 rec yards and Alec Pierce reaching 100 rec yards in this game, this is the first time in nearly 10 years that two Colts pass-catchers had 100 rec yards or more in the same game.

The last time it happened was in the Nov 30, 2014 game against Washington when Donte Moncrief (134) and Coby Fleener (127) pulled off the feat.

Of course. Those were the first two players I would have guessed immediately...

ChaosTheory 12-05-2023 12:11 AM

I just heard the PFF guys talking. They mentioned the Colts had 29 fucking pressures.

Will Levis had 33 pass-attempts..

Oldcolt 12-05-2023 12:34 AM

If you can rush the passer you can beat anybody.

Yet, we barely beat the Titans.

In that Moncrief - Fleener game, Andrew Luck passed for 370 yds with 5 TD's.

Moncrief caught 2 TD's and Fleener caught 2 TD's.

Looking at the other receiving stats:

TY Hilton had 62 rec yds with a TD.

Reggie Wayne had 31 rec yds.

It’s weeks 9-13. Best performing teams using epa per play as a measurement. Top right box is where you want to be.

I got that part, barely, but did not understand the part above the chart.

The chart has 8 black slant lines. The lowest is to the left and down indicating only a 10% win rate of games which is where the Jets, Giants, Saints and Panthers exist. The top slant (right and up) is the 90% win rate probability which is occupied only by the 49ers. The Colts are in the 70% win rate section.

The rest:

"Win prob 10%-90%" = Explained above.
"reg weeks 9-13" = Indicating that this data is only from the past 4 weeks play
"(playoffs: none)" = This data does not include any playoff games
"downs: 1-4" = This data includes all 1st downs, 2nd downs, 3rd downs and 4th down plays
"qtrs: all" = Includes all four quarters of all games

Clear as mud?

Yeah, I did not understand the win probability and the slanted lines. It makes sense now.

Looked for myself and found something similar:

https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-week-14...f-picture-2023

This week's game is apparently huge for the Colts. With a win, they have an 81% chance of making the playoffs, while a loss would leave them with only a 44% chance. Must win this week, fortunately it's against a backup QB.

Let's hope they're not overlooking CIN. I haven't gone back to watch him myself yet .. but that backup QB had a decent, Minshew-like outing vs PIT and then went 32 for 37 (holy shit) with 354 yards vs JAX.

As winnable as these upcoming games are... They're almost just as losable

Browning looked fantastic vs the Jags. Super calm, accurate. There were some questionable offensive play calls that didn't help him, but he had an excellent night. Definitely had a better game than any game I've seen Minschew play.
