Darius Rush

Hope colts can put him on practice squad.

ChaosTheory 08-30-2023 07:46 AM

He's got a lot of potential. Jaylon Jones outplayed him and Brown plays slot + special teams. Still figured they'd keep him even if he's not ready.

PS would be nice, but it'll be tough to get through waivers.

Kansas City was LAST on the waiver priority list.

Rush was sooooo close to be on the Colts practice squad (assuming he would choose to sign with Indy's practice squad and not another team)

30 NFL teams passed.....but the Chefs claimed him.

My guess is they cut him because he was about to say his actual name was Shaquille.

Still a head scratcher that we didn't keep him. Guess all the extra LBs we kept are better STs players?

Stuard for sure is a ST stud that might turn into a contributor. Kid is fucking wild out there.

At DB, Jones just won out and Brown gives us a backup nickel + gunner.

Even then, dude made it past 31 teams. Needs time, I'm sure it was one of the toughest decisions they made.

Hoopsdoc 08-30-2023 08:22 PM

I wasn’t impressed with Rush. Just didn’t seem like a good player. Seemed to me like one of those guys who tests better than he plays.

With Jones being the opposite.

I don’t think there’s any question that Jones had a better preseason.

Earlier today the Chefs waived CB Darius Rush because they needed a roster spot.

Hope colts pick him up

Kind of surprised no team had added rush to practice squad. Size/Speed guy

If Rush wasn't claimed via waivers, then he can sign with any team's practice squad.

He could have offers from several teams and is taking a day or two to figure out which team's practice squad he wants to sign with.

He probably is not going to make it the NFL. Just wishful thinking on my part. The NFL scrap heap is full of size/speed guys that didn't make it.

Rush decided to stay put in Kansas City.

He has been added to their practice squad.

I wonder if Colts tried to sign him to practice squad. No way of knowing.

Might get a SB ring there.

Yeah, I mean if you’re settled and renting a place there. What’s one practice squad to another. If the Colts really want him they can claim him.

A team can claim someone off another teams practice squad only if added to their active roster. Not sure he showed enough for that.

It appears that no team really wants him that badly, not sure why we're even talking about him.

I think because there was such excitement that we landed him at #138 when a lot of mock drafts had him rated much higher. Some had him ranked in the 60's or 80's, most probably had him in the high-90's to low-100's overall (I could be wrong).

6'2, 200lbs, 4.3 guy. Feels like a waste.

People want the draft pick to be worthwhile, and he had some hype as a bargain pick that should have gone higher. But he missed a lot of time and couldn't catch up. We also had 12 picks, that's a lot. Surprised 11 made the team.

Flowers is out for the year with an Achilles. Do you bring Rush back?

The Colts certainly could....although it adds a little bit of inflexibility to the 53 man roster.

If a team poaches a player from another team's practice squad, that player must remain on the new team's 53 man roster for a minimum of 3 weeks.
