Panthers trade up to #1
Reports are Chicago and Carolina have agreed to a trade:
Carolina gets first pick this year Chicago gets: 2023 #9 overall 2023 #61 overall 2024 1st rounder 2025 2nd rounder WR DJ Moore It sucks that another QB will be off the board at 4, but I’m glad Colts aren’t giving up that much to move up. I like Stroud, but I’m not positive he’s a star. |

Glad it wasn't us. Frank must want Levis bad.

I’m really surprised they made a deal this early. It’s not like Carolina offered a king’s ransom that blows you away. At 9, they’ll get a solid player, but the 2 game changing defenders, Anderson and Carter, will both be off the board.

Stroud to Panthers
Young to Texicans Cardinals- Carter? Colts- Levis or Richardson. I would not be opposed to the Colts trading back and snagging Hooker or McKee in the 2nd. round (Neither of them are worth a 1st. either). They are both about even with Hooker getting the nod for a little stronger arm. |
Go BPA or start trading down and preparing for next year.
I'm not losing any sleep. It is what it is. |

Welp, it’s either Levis or Richardson then, unless Carolina or Houston throws a curveball.
If it’s between those two, I want Richardson. |

Tennessee already beat us to Tankathon 23’.

For the Bears to move down 5 more spots the Panthers gave up the #9 overall, end of 2nd rounder, next year's 1st, '25's 2nd, and a productive WR. Seems pretty comparable to above when you consider the Bears are moving down 5 more spots than what the Chargers did in '04. |

Panthers were the least likely of the 5 QB teams I thought would land the #1. I didn't think CHI would get out of the Carter/Anderson range. I guess nobody else thinks any of these QB's are worth that second 1st rounder.
Good that we're not overpaying, good that Irsay isn't pushing to do so. So either they feel that Steichen can work with any of these QB's or those early reports about them liking Levis may have been true or they're actually going to say fuck any of these QB's and either take a stud/trade back. |

Hmmm, interesting.
According to Florio, Carolina has let it be known they’re willing to move back from 1. That makes me wonder if they’re not interested in Levis or Richardson. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...ack-from-no-1/ |

They’re not trading with Ballard. They won’t go that far back. |
Carolina is taking Stroud. I’d bet good money on it.
We’ll see what Frank can do with a talented young qb. |
My biggest fear for the off season was betting the whole farm on one of those four guys. Glad that threat has passed.

Poles was always going to trade to the highest bidder. He literally said as much. There is no way in hell Carolina is moving back to 4 unless by some weird chance they rate Stroud, Young, Levis, and Richardson as pretty much the same. And if they did, they would have traded a lot less to Arizona to get to 3. Carolina has their eyes on Stroud or Young. My guess is Stroud. They’re not moving back past 2 or 3. |

They feel like he’ll probably be there at 2 or 3. Trade back and recoup some of their losses. |

If one is, it’s worth it. If not, everyone is getting fired and the franchise is set back 10 years. It did take balls to make the move, though. |
Soap opera. So now they're willing to trade back... as in to the Texans only?
What would they want to go back to #4? Or would the Colts have to get to #3 before they'd listen? Assuming the Colts even care to be in play for this anymore. |

Now Arizona will trade their pick, which the nutless Ballard will have no interest in because he's a pussy, & we will really be screwed.

The vets on the O line let the team down, and Ballard blew the O line replacements. It took more than one person to create last season. And its going to take more than one rookie Qb it straighten it out. And its going to take more than one draft to make the Colts a contender. You give away 4 high draft picks you are forced to put more money on FA’s and not save money on talented , less expensive guys you will need in the future. |
Richardson is the pick he fits the Colts more than any of these QBs he’s a humble and hungry dude
Ballard wasn’t selling the farm for 1 |

Clearly the Colts, Texans, Raiders, or Seahawks aren't that convinced. |
So much angst over a mediocre group of QBs.
