Looks like it. Just created a thread myself but you beat me to the punch haha.
|
Saying Ryan has a shoulder injury. He was grabbing his arm yesterday.
|
Separated shoulder is the rumor on twitter
|
This is the perfect game to give Sam a shot...suddenly I am interested in this team again!

Turnovers are too much. |
Some of us were saying it in the game thread yesterday: just say he's injured and put Sam in. If he really is injured, and he probably is after the beating he's taken for seven weeks, I hope he has a full recovery.
Am reading that Ehlinger will finish the rest of the season as QB1 |
Third and short and we have a chance if nothing is open. He can scoot a little.
|
For me this means I can watch with interest again, especially if we pull off a trade for a guard. Don’t really think we can win big this year but at least we are looking toward the future. You never k me with QBs and Ehlinger is a huge long shot but we may be lucky and catch lightening in the bottle. Let’s hope Ehlinger does well and saves Franks job and our season. Ryan needs to retire.
|
Damn, one week too late.
Don't really know what Sam can or can't do, but I really know what Ryan can't do. Can't be a statue out there with this overpaid Oline. Can we also sit Reich out too. If we are going to lose anyway, can't we at least be entertained? For the first time in a long damn time, I missed the Colts game. Just didn't care to watch it. And please don't put Foles out there, just another washed up old dude who can't move. All the old QB's such as Brady, Rodgers, and Ryan need to hang them up. Brady really looks like shit too, but that's a good thing. |
well, this move should provide more interest in watching the rest of the season!

So Reich himself said it was a separation, not a sprain.
I've had a separated shoulder and it took weeks to get over and I wasn't a 37 year old QB trying to throw a ball and take hits. I think the Ehlinger embrace might be coming after they talked and realized Ryan couldn't recover from this very quickly. I could be wrong |
I’m not so sure that this is a decision because of any injury to Ryan. I believe this has been at least thought about for a few weeks. Promoting Ehlinger to second string was a move that may have presaged this move. The injury deal saves Ryan some face. Why would they say Sam is the starter going forward if this was about an injury to Ryan? They don’t want any controversy when Ryan is ready to play in a few weeks.
|
Total desperation time. Unless he’s legitimately hurt.
Apparently Reich said they were going to Ehlinger anyway even if Ryan weren’t hurt. That seems weird to me. Why say that? Saying that was completely unnecessary. Now it’s gonna be hard to go back to Ryan if they need to. Which they will because Ehlinger blows. Just say Sam is starting because Ryan is hurt. |

JMV is reporting that it’s believed they plan to stick with Ehlinger through the rest of the season and that Irsay leaned hard on them to go that direction. JMV didn’t say this explicitly but implied that Irsay would prefer we put ourselves in better drafting position if Ehlinger sucks. Of course nobody would admit to such publicly. |

Besides, it’s not like they’re out of the hunt. They’re 3-3-1. I don’t think this came from Jim, but if it did, it’s because he thinks Ehlinger is better. |

As for what the true reason is... if Ryan's injury to his throwing shoulder is severe; at his age, it might be the case that they all see his return window near the end of the season anyway. So why bother bringing him back? This is what I lean toward. Then I think... well, they did already move Ehlinger ahead of Foles before any of this injury stuff. Maybe he was on his way up and Ryan's bad game was the coup de grace for his season. |

No matter who the next QB is, Reich cannot be allowed to pollute them with whatever chaos he foments in these guys. Dude is in NO way some form of QB whisperer, he is just a whisperer and his voice needs to be completely lost! |

This is awful.

Reich was part of a season where a QB duo caught fire with a team that got hot and won a SB. Maybe he is a decent position coach like Pagano but just like Pagano has no business being a head coach. |

They should have kept either Glo or Reed. Letting them both walk was ridiculous. |
The more I think about this, the more stunning it is. It’s a concession that the team Ballard put together, specifically at offensive line, isn’t good enough for the quarterback they have.
This is 1000 percent Ballards fault. And the sad thing is, the offensive line still can’t block. So they’re really setting Ehlinger up for failure, not that he would have succeeded anyway. It’s just mind boggling how far and how fast this season went off the rails. Now we’re down to hoping for a miracle. |
With this defense all we need is a QB to manage the fuckon game and not turn the ball over that’s it!!!
RPO should be way more effective and atleast if the play breaks down he can run First and foremost don’t turn the fuckin ball over |
We are getting bantered on AFC south message boards. The other teams are clowning us. Deservedly so I guess. I know I'd be doing the same.

Pryor is the biggest failure on Ballard's resumé. Again, his tape last year didn't translate. We also can't prove a negative in terms of what they tried in free agency. But they did draft Raimann who everybody seemed to like. And he did bring in Kelly. |
Quote:
He's still a free agent. He provided average LT play last year. Can't "prove a negative" by finding out what they tried to do to fix LT, but you certainly can make the criticism that bringing back average LT Fisher would've been by far the better move than gifting the starting LT spot to Matt Pryor based on one start at the end of last season. |

Stop. We need more than that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

That dumbass pick 6 was the difference in the game and him making it easy on Vrabel only throwing check down to Campbell |
Quote:
1.) Fisher (and by proxy Ballard) was shit on pretty regularly last season. Not a no-brainer to bring him back. 2.) They had 5 starts and 5 more games of 25+% snaps worth of tape on Pryor, even though I know he wasn't exclusively LT. I don't remember him looking like this last season. How could he have? 3.) Fisher also hasn't been signed by any other team that could use "average" LT play. Must be a reason. 4.) There's a difference between criticizing moves that don't work (like you're doing) and calling for Ballard's head while ignoring all the good things that he provided (e.g., virtually the entire defense, Pitt, Pierce, JT, Granson, Woods, etc.). |
Quote:
Any I'll add that there's the rampant assumption here and elsewhere that if the Colts simply decided to re-sign these guys, they could have. That's not reality. If I recall correctly, the Colts tried to re-sign both Reed (who wanted to return home to Minnesota) and Fisher (who simply chose not to sign). The player has to want to sign here too. Same goes for free agents. |
Did anyone here think the O line would be this bad, in both run and pass plays?
If they dont step up their play, Ehrlinger doesnt stand a chance |
