***The Official Chiefs Barbecue The Colts KC Style Gameday Thread***

45-27 Chiefs. Mahomes rolls over the defense for 400 yards and 5 touchdowns.

On the bright side, McLaughlin doesn’t miss any kicks and hits from 51 and 48.

I’m not sure I’ve ever been less confident going into a game.

Have at it, freaks. Talk me off the ledge.

Chiefs 59 - Colts 9, Mahomes is seen eating a ham sandwich and enjoying a brew at the end of the 3rd quarter !!

Luck4Reich 09-25-2022 07:31 AM

Colts finally get things going on offense.

Colts win 34-31

Yeah Started drinking early

albany ed 09-25-2022 07:53 AM

This Sunday I don't expect the Colts to win. If they do win, fuckin fantastic. If they lose, well, that's what I figured would happen. In the first two weeks, I expected to see the Colts win and when they failed to show up for 7 of the 8 quarters they've been in, I was pissed. Even if they get blown out, I'll be OK with it. I like the Chiefs, I like Mahomes. Next to the Colts, they're my favorite team to watch. They're fun. So far, the Colts are not.

ChoppedWood 09-25-2022 09:29 AM

We win because this is who we are, a team that has no consistency, no real leadership, but is talented enough to play with and beat anyone in the league when they WANT to, which is an enormous problem.

Mr. Session 09-25-2022 10:40 AM

Fuck the bullshit.

Another Sunday. Another chance to do something great.

We drinking early over here let’s fucking get it boys.

This is a big part for me. If you are going to lose, at least be fun, make it interesting to watch. I have not been enjoying watching them dating back to end of last year.

I’ve been a diehard colts fan since the 70’s, over 50 years worth, stuck with them thru thick and thin. I live in rural America and had the 3rd Directv dish sold in my county installed in 1994 and have watched every game since. Today for the first time in forever at least if that’s what 50 years is close to, I will be watching the Bills/Dolphins game and checking the Colts game during commercials. I enjoy watching Josh Allen compete with the heart of a lion. It’s incredible how his teammates feed off of his competitive spirit. It is exactly what the Colts are lacking- Heart. The Colts have no heart and I’m not giving them mine until they get it back.

Talented but no heart and no leadership.

They haven’t won yet and they’ve played 2 of the worst teams in the league. And looked absolutely awful for 6 of the 8 quarters they played.

I think they lose big today.

AlwaysSunnyinIndy 09-25-2022 11:40 AM

DE Yannick Ngakoue (back) had been listed as QUESTIONABLE but is ACTIVE for today's game.

The Colts inactive list is below:

QB Sam Ehlinger
OT Bernhard Raimann
OT Luke Tenuta
WR Dezmon Patmon
CB Dallis Flowers
LB Shaquille Leonard

The 1978 Baltimore Colts, without the injured Bert Jones, lost their first 2 games of the season by a combined score of 80-0 ...... they beat the Patriots on Monday Night Football in their 3rd game of the season.

https://www.jt-sw.com/football/pro/r...Teams/1978-bal

The 2011 Indianapolis Colts, without the injured Peyton Manning, lost their first 2 games of the season by a combined score of 61-26 ...... they went right down to the wire before losing on a last-second field goal to the heavily-favored Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football in their 3rd game of the season.

https://www.jt-sw.com/football/pro/r...Teams/2011-ind

The 2022 Indianapolis Colts had to settle for a tie against the Deshaun Watson-less Houston Texans and were shutout by the perennially hapless Jacksonville Jaguars in their first 2 games of the year ...... against the Patrick Mahomes and his perennial juggernaut Kansas City Chiefs in their 3rd game of the season, they will ???

I'm with Big Albert except my Colt fandom days started in 1963. Lived through all those senior Irsay days. Never stopped watching. Won't watch today (wimp that I am I will record it just in case some miracle happens), I just don't give a shit about this group of guys right now. If they win it will mean nothing to me, they have proven to me to many times IN A ROW year after year they will eventually shit the bed, just after they get my hopes up enough to make it hurt. I am not on the ledge anymore. I have jumped. I need a parachute but don't think the Colts make one. I hope I'm just being a whiney little bitch and they make me eat crow in a big way. Doubt it though.

you are definitely being a whiney bitch.

The roof is open. Luckily I don’t think Ryan can throw it far enough to have an affect.

Probably watch the game on mute as I fucking hate Jim Nantzy Boy.

I've been rooting for the Colts since I was in first grade, in 1971. I've lived through a lot of ups and downs. Even when the Colts were 2-14 in 1981, I continued to follow them week after week, passionately rooting for them ...... it's not in my DNA to give up on the team with the blue horseshoes on their helmets, no matter how bad they are, no matter who the head coach is, no matter who the General Manager is, and no matter what city they represent, whether it be Baltimore, Indianapolis, or Beijing, China.

Been a Colts fan since Ameche scored the winning TD in the '58 championship game, needless to say been thru a few ups and downs with this team !

ChoppedWood 09-25-2022 12:26 PM

I go back to the incredible game in 78'- 9/18/78 when Joe Washington's 90 yard KO return beat the Pats (yes I have hated them that long) on one of the sloppiest fields ever.

I've been through all of the ups and downs, had season tickets, etc...

I've had players and coaches I have disliked across this wide span but not a specific "team". However, I can legitimately say that this team, is the one I have the least amount of investment in from an emotional standpoint. As SOOOOO many of us have said, there is ZERO heart on this team. Me, I think it's there, I think there are guys that are leaders, that want to win, that care deeply about this team.

I just feel like this coaching staff takes steps that obviate that level of commitment and desire. It feels like a team that has been forbidden from being themselves and instead have been crafted to be way too professional. As others have pointed out, they aren't fun, and to me it all starts with the dude with the headset on the sidelines. I think to a man nearly all players and coaches would vote to abolish the unsportsmanlike penalty for celebration, but I would expect Frank to be among a tiny group that is in favor of it because it can lead to guys feeling disrespected and that's not nice. That's just how I view him and that's now how I view football.

Hoopsdoc 09-25-2022 12:33 PM

As much as I hate the current team, I could never not root for the horseshoe.

Hell, I was one of the few who said I’d remain a fan if they signed Tom Brady.

I root for the Colts no matter what.

The Joe Washington game, against the Patriots ...... in the 4th quarter alone, he had a hand in 3 TD's. He threw a 54-yard TD pass to Roger Carr, he caught a 23-yard TD from Bill Troup, and he returned a kickoff 90 yards for a TD.

Can't really do that. The only hope I have is that the Colts rarely have two horrible games in a row.

I mean, other than last year when a playoff game is on the line.

Last week's horrible performance does nothing to inspire confidence. They have already shown this season they're a team who will roll over and die and show no pride when things aren't going their way.

YDFL Commish 09-25-2022 12:57 PM

My usual Colts Sunday early game routine is not to have my 1st until the Colts score their 1st TD.

I have smartly abandoned that method the last 2 weeks.

One of the most incredible games ever. Loved that team.

nate505 09-25-2022 01:01 PM

Ugh, the roof is open. I'm sure that's great for the people there, and more power to them, but it makes for an absolute horrible tv experience when the sun glares down on one half of the field, which it almost always does.

Granted, this could just be preemptive bitching since I haven't seen if it's going to yet or not.

You are extremely optimistic that the Colts will score 27. I make it 51 - 6, Chiefs, and Mahomes gets to sit and rest at the beginning of the third quarter.

Still, I'm here to watch the game, so I have some hope.

Lov2fish 09-25-2022 01:02 PM

I get pissed at them, but always a fan. I was just a kid visiting my uncle in Florida and the Bills Colts were on. Jones and Ferguson were throwing it all over the field. I instantly fell in love with the Colts and scoured every news paper I could find for scores and stats. It was like a lifetime of Christmases when I woke up to turn on the news and see the Mayflower trucks bringing my favorite team to my hometown. I have suffered through some miserable football and still supported them. I earned the right to criticize them, and will do so.

nate505 09-25-2022 01:03 PM

The Chiefs defer. Smart move. Wish Reich were that smart.

Brylok 09-25-2022 01:03 PM

Sick of hearing about the Dolphins. They win one good game and now they're great. GTFO
