LB Shaquille Leonard will be a full participant in today's practice.

Quote:

Frank Reich on Shaq Leonard's status for Sunday: it sounds unlikely the star LB will play in Houston — "he just needs more action," Reich said, meaning practice.

But Reich knows Leonard's different, so nothing is decided. "He’s far from 100%, but that’s OK... he can play at 80%."

Colts coach Frank Reich on DE Kwity Paye and CB Isaiah Rodgers Sr.

"Isaiah's looked good, he cleared protocol and is looking good.

Same thing with Kwity. I feel confident he's making the right steps.

We'll evaluate (their availability for Houston) as the week goes on."

I'm actually kind of relieved they're leaning towards sitting Leonard. From his first practice to week 1 is less time than the rest of the guys had from first practice to preseason game 1. Seems too soon, but we'll see.

Me too, give E.J. Speed the reps, see how he performs.

I dunno, leonard was 19 when we last won a home opener. I think he plays.

Why would Reich say he needs more time and then a few seconds later say he could play at 80%...sounds like the Shaq Attack Maniac could very well see some action!

I can't wait for the season to start, hope I feel the same way half way through the schedule!

I have long stopped believing coach speak.

Yes, I think they play it safe and bring him back for home opener against KC week 3

Imma thinkin they play him but for a limited number of snaps to get him play time but lower exposure pending how he reacts.

Kevin Bowen
@KBowen1070
2 days of regular season practice.

And all 53 #Colts continue to practice.

Shaquille Leonard (back) went from FULL on Wednesday to limited today.

It seems like the Colts are easing Leonard back into the daily grind.

If he is not ready before January, I’m not sure it will matter.

There is absolutely a guarantee that the Colts will play 2 games in January this year.

Oldcolt 09-09-2022 09:18 PM

JAFF is right in what I meant. We need Leonard come playoff time. I cannot believe I got shit for saying that the Colts will be playing come playoff time. I stand by what I meant, not question we will be playing post season. It is September for gods sake, I almost always feel this way. Not logical I know but logic is for my other life.

No, thats my fault. I totally forgot that the season has been elongated. Next thing you know they will openly advertise gambling on the games

Either way for Reich's and possibly Ballard's sake we had better make the playoffs this year.
