JJ Watt
If Texans cut him loose?
I’d take him |

Slightly better than a career revival in NE. Only slightly.

A great player who I have always enjoyed watching, someone who always appears to give his absolute best at all times and raises the ability of others. He is a QB of a defense and alongside Aaron Donald has been the best defensive player in the NFL.
|
Can he play Qb?

Texans will release Watt per Rapoport: https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/1360238944009531399 Quote:

I’d like him to come here, but probably end up in Pittsburgh

Texans going full rebuild? JJ next to TJ will be scary for awhile.

According to this, Ballard is focusing on edge rush and WR in free agency:

Love the guy but dont want him. His best days are behind him

We should make a move to get Watson here. The Texans owner died and his brother took over and he doesn't know what he's doing. An "Evangelical preacher" con man/charlatan/grifter, Jack Easterby, has taken over their franchise. He's in the owner's ear like Rasputin/Grima Wormtongue. Houston is done for years and Watson should just sit/hold out. If he came here he'd be free to kick Texan ass for 10 years.

In the end, JJ Watt signs with the Cardinals for ~$15M a year.

So you choose Arizona and less money!! I don’t believe that , makes no sense unless he was looking for a retirement city
Fuck that dude |

Just read Steven Holder got a denial from the Colts. I tend to believe him |
Yeah that “reporting” doesnt make sense. I would guess that AZ had highest guaranteed money

What a dumpster fire of an organization. Glad they are in our division. |
I called JJ to the cards when he got released.
For those of you who think this is just about money, think on it. The one thing the Cards lacked to get into the playoff's last year was defense. Not the same team as the 2000's Colts, but built similar. They now have a high powered offense, with bookend pass rushers. |

Oh well your paying for the name at this point in his career probably for the better we didn’t get him |

I never saw JJ going to a division rival. He’s too loyal to the Texans.

Watt will only count $4.9M on the 2021 cap by structuring the contract as a 5 year deal. Arizona added 3 dummy voidable years to the contract to spread out the signing bonus. This will result in a $7.2M dead money charge in 2023. We will probably see other teams use this same strategy to sign free agents this year. |
Since the Colts need to sign a few D players of their own, I hope so
