The Colts sucked TODAY ...... I don't think that they suck overall.

As long as we beat the Falcons, then we are still in the driver seat in the AFC South!

Raiders could do us a massive favor today!

The Broncos are tied with the Texans at 15 apiece.

A loss by either team helps the Colts ...... a Texans loss helps the Colts within the division, and a Broncos loss helps the Colts with the overall AFC playoff seedings.

The Broncos won.

The Colts and the Broncos are both 7-2, although the Colts own the tie-breaker from their head-on win.

The Texans fall to 3-5.

5 turnovers from Jones. Giants fans are saying we told you so.

You got a glimpse of why he was available.

Because our O-line played like the Giants.....

I hope they come back strong, I've no wish to read any "fire Ballard" posts. ;)

Yep. Pretty disappointing since the Steelers DL hasn't done shit this year and were dominated the past couple of weeks. Anyone know if they got some guys back today?

Hoopsdoc 11-02-2025 05:42 PM

The offense actually moved the ball well. Just couldn’t protect Jones.

There are no silver linings in the NFL but that’s not as discouraging as it could be.

If he does it again next week your statement has credence. He has played far to good this year for me to buy into that just yet. Today was a collective embarrassment.

For sure, he was forced to throw the ball a million times, and he did throw for a lot of yards with 2 WR's over a hundred today.

Next week will be the tell. If he comes back to earth and looks bad, yes the regression is beginning. If however we protect and we score a bunch of points again, I think everyone can breathe a bit and feel confident he will be fine in the long run.

Do you mean trade us Maxx Crosby for a guitar out of the Irsay collection?

Sounds like a fair exchange to me!

Exactly! If we meet them in the playoffs in Indy the results will be much different. The O-line had an off game. I trust that they will bounce back.

Any team that gives up 6 turnovers and 5 sacks and only loses by 10, has the ability to overcome this.

The key is to win next week and recharge for the bye.

DragonTails 11-02-2025 06:16 PM

Did they attempt any screen passes since the rush was in their face all day?

Oldcolt 11-02-2025 06:21 PM

So far Jones cannot elevate the play of those around him. If they are playing great so does he, if not neither does he. Top QBs can elevate those around them. I am not saying he cannot, just that so far he hasn't played like those top QBs can. I hope we don't pay him like one unless he shows in a game he can.

Not that I saw. Also saw very few swing pases to the RB's.

Hags in a battle against the lowly Raiders. Up 4 with 2:00 eft. Raiders close to the Red Zone.

I know what you are saying, but he has elevated the play of Alec Pierce, Pierce is having his best season so far because we finally have a QB that can get the ball to him! But I am not too worried about him, he had no time today, the throw to Downs that was intercepted was a really bad throw, but the others were caused by pressure, our OL got whipped!

Which team ???

Historically, the Raiders are the dirtiest bunch of gangsters ever to take a football field.

No bootlegs, no roll outs, a lot of weird shit play call wise today.

I'll feel a lot better about our loss if the Raiders score here and get a 2 point conversion for the win!

I feel a lot better about our loss because the Lions lost to the Vikings, and the Packers lost to the Panthers.

I'm more concerned about how the other top teams in the NFL are faring than I am with the Jaguars ...... if the 7-2 Colts can't hold off the 5-3 Jaguars for the division title as the season progresses, then all of the scoreboard watching will be moot anyway.

Yeah Steichen sort of fucked himself today. Seems like we fell behind and he just abandoned a lot of the field opening shit we have been doing all year. Though the OL was not doing anyone any favors.

Chromeburn 11-02-2025 10:18 PM

Too much passing abandoned the run too early. DJ is not a hero ball QB like Mahomes or Allen. Like any other QB he will make mistakes if you keep getting to him.

Where are the QB designed runs? I mean, DJ is an athletic QB. I would think that we have some in the playbook?

That INT on 2nd and 1 when JT looked like he was getting going really hurt

Felt like we expected a huge emphasis on stopping the run and a lot of empty pockets in the zone and game planned for that, which it certainly seemed to be working early. Sadly it seems like we were unwilling to deviate from the game plan once it became clear the OL was not going to give consistent time to complete those timing routes. Suddenly we're down and Steichen just came obsessed with trying to get it all back at once until it was too late.

Very poorly coached and executed game.
