I know it's just preseason, but it doesn't look like he's improved at all. Straight down the sideline, no separation, and dropped passes. He was playing against 2nd and 3rd stringers in Philly, and he still couldn't get any separation.

Oh, I know that he has his limitations and probably doesn't have much upside / potential left to unlock. Just pointing out that there were no WR's drafted immediately after him that have really stood out either.

Yeah, depending on the severity and recovery timetable for Jelani Wood's partially torn hamstring, the Colts may place him on IR tomorrow.

Wonder if Joel's source is ColtFreaks

Jelani Woods re-aggravated his hamstring pull later in camp, and the Colts are strongly considering placing him on IR to start the season, per source

I know there is a lot of angst about the current roster, but I live close enough to get Nashville sports radio. They are freaking out about the fact they have NO backup center right now. They are freaking out about players not released, and players that were released.

It seems every team has people who jump off proverbial cliffs like we do.

Down to 3 fucking WR's on the roster, 3 after the McKenzie release.

Swear to God Ballard HATES receivers. One of them must have banged his wife or some shit and he can't help but see this as his way of getting even. This dude is sooooooooo fucking out of touch with modern day NFL offense.

Starting QB has 15 fucking games under his belt, his most dangerous weapon is shelved due to contract shit, and now your offense has 3 fucking WR's at present... FUCK BALLARD!

If we don't sign someone of note and instead we use a guy like Rogers as the 4th....

It was mentioned in the Waiver Claim thread that McKenzie is already back as the WR4.

The Colts had planned on placing Jelani Woods on IR but that move couldn't be made until 4PM Eastern whereas the waiver claims occurred earlier in the day.

So they needed a roster spot for a few hours until they could move Woods to IR.

Thanks, I just read that a few mins ago. I heard about the McKenzie cut while driving from an event and about shit myself. While not the 2nd coming of Marv or Reg, he's clearly more developed than a bunch of the other dudes we put on PS so I was stunned by it.

I’d pump the brakes a little. He hasn’t even played a down of his second season. And also you can’t forget the context of they fired the O coordinator and head coach. The system took a nosedive in creativity. A nobody was calling plays and Saturday was the head coach. He’s actually had some good buzz this training camp.

I wonder if in these McKenzie like situations if the player benefits at all. If I was McKenzie I would have been: "yeah I'll re-sign with you for a ~20% bump."
