(vs. TITANS, 12/22)

Mitchell only had 1 catch in this game, but it was an excellent catch at a clutch time ...... with 5 minutes left to play in the first half and the Colts leading by a score of 14-7, the Colts had a 3rd-and-5 from deep in their own territory. Mitchell extended his arms and reeled in Anthony Richardson's pass to give the Colts a 1st down 36 yards downfield, at the Titans' 37-yardline. Instead of having to punt the ball back to the Titans, the Colts continued the drive and kicked a field goal to extend their lead to 17-7.

On a sports radio show, Bill Polian said the greatest growth a NFLer makes is in his second year.

For all I know, this guy might wind up in the Hall-of-Fame someday and be mentioned in the same breath as Lance Alworth, Steve Largent, Jerry Rice, Terrell Owens, and Marvin Harrison ...... but I don't think that calling attention to yourself in such a brazen, challenging manner before you've caught a single pass in the NFL is necessarily the most prudent route to take. At least Joe Namath's team made it to the Super Bowl before he guaranteed that they would win it.

He said that he was "pissed" when he was drafted in the 2nd round last month, and not the first round. And that was made a big deal of in the press. So, choosing number 10 AND telling the press that that is why he chose that number one month later is calling attention to himself ...... at least that's how I view a rookie wide receiver calling attention to oneself.

It will be fine if he has a good season. But if he tears his UCL in the 5th game of the season, his assertion of being pissed and choosing number 10 won't be a flattering look for a rookie wide receiver. Hopefully he will stay healthy, play well, and make it a moot point.

In the Colts' last chance to keep themselves alive for a playoff berth, Mitchell did not especially shine bright ...... and so, entirely of his own doing, his decision to call attention to himself with the shenanigans about wearing number 10 to prove a point about being disrespected in the 2024 NFL draft wound up being a rather unflattering look for the talented Colts rookie.

Holy hell does this guy suck. Maybe he screws his head on straight and becomes a good player, but I can't see it happening.

He's very talented, and he showed the ability to get separation this season ...... I can see him possibly evolving into a good receiver some day ...... but his implantation of his foot in his mouth is his own damned fault.

Fuck tis guy, drops a very simple, easy routine ball, and then throws a fit after the TD overthrow. I fucking hate this dude!

Most WRs are divas. Par for the course. I would wait for the end of his second year before giving him a complete evaluation.

He's got a lot of growing up to do. I do not think that I've ever seen a WR short arm more passes than this dude. His avoidance of contact or putting himself in harms way is embarrassing. But apparently not to him?
