Shockingly bad run defense from a team that says it’s strengths are on the lines.

Merely a talking point to keep the masses from dumping their season tickets.

Both lines look like shit. O line can't even open a running lane.

Coltsalr 08-25-2018 05:19 PM

Excellent play by Hooker

Spike 08-25-2018 05:21 PM

It's only 3-0, but it feels like the 49ers should be up by 17. Just moving the ball at will and destroying our run game.

Yep, great to see him back.

If Garoppalo got into a rhythm this would be a blowout. The lines look like last years units.

Colt Classic 08-25-2018 05:29 PM

Way to haul it in for the TD!

Thorgrim 08-25-2018 05:30 PM

That’s more like it!

Spike 08-25-2018 05:30 PM

Damn it scares me when Luck runs, but that was vintage Luck. TD, Luck to Ebron. Great catch by Ebron.

Thorgrim 08-25-2018 05:32 PM

Reich has his work cut out for him with our run game.

Colts And Orioles 08-25-2018 05:33 PM

o

Clearly, Luck IS NOT tentative due to missing more than a year with an injury ........ in an exhibition game he chose not to slide before contact, and instead went head-first to try to get the 1st down.

His competitive spirit reminds me so much of Bert Jones.

I was scared, too ........ it's just not in his DNA to slide if it's 3rd (or 4th) down, and he has a chance to move the sticks.

Colts And Orioles 08-25-2018 05:39 PM

Solid defense all-around on that 2nd down and 2 play ........ they got big-time pressure on the quarterback, AND they also immediately tackled the emergency receiver whom Garoppolo was able to unload the ball to.

omahacolt 08-25-2018 05:50 PM

Tell me how his team wouldn’t be better with Hankins and Anderson

Colts And Orioles 08-25-2018 05:50 PM

o

Not a bad job by the defense in the first half ......... in 4 possessions, the 49ers got 2 field goals, had 1 punt, and 1 turnover on downs deep in Colts territory.

Hankins hasn't signed with anyone yet. Makes you wonder why?

Colt Classic 08-25-2018 05:55 PM

Irsay kinda sorta shutting down hope for getting Kahlil Mack.

The most worrisome thing was Friscos dominance in the run game. They managed nearly 100 yds and it can’t be dismissed as a couple big runs skewing the stats.

This defense is going to be historically bad. By far the worst defense in the league. Ballard completely shit the bed here

Colt Classic 08-25-2018 06:00 PM

Eh, I can live with a ton of yards if they hold them to field goals. The Colts still can't run the damn ball, but hey, we got attitude at left guard!

The dropped (potential) INT right in the player's hands near the end of the 49ers' final drive of the half was not good, either.

I hate when that happens.

Lol I hope not. Another year like 81’ would push me right over the edge.

This is going to be an ugly year for the defense. I have no idea what Ballard was thinking

Too many holes to plug in one year but the failure to spend a bit in free agency is perplexing.

The way they keep selling this "we want to win the right way" makes it seem like the reason isn't for anything on-field. Probably attitude or not kissing enough ass of those who had the new vision for how the team was going to play.

It’s a coaches/general manager’s prerogative to set those parameters but they had better translate to success on the field. I’ll withhold judgement for now.

Maybe I am missing the "we want to win right now" thing. I keep hearing them say it's a multi-year rebuild, it's a young team, it's a process that they doing to build a team for the long term, etc. All of those are the opposite of "we want to win right now." This team has a ways to go. It's definitely not in a "win now" mode.

the RIGHT WAY...not RIGHT AWAY. They had Dungy on the radio earlier this week when he was in town and he mentioned that he was glad that Ballard is trying to get the franchise back to that. Irsay also said it when he was in the booth in the first half.

My bad. I completely misread that.
