Ted Marchibroda can tell you exactly what that’s like. He lived it ...... Bob Irsay fired him after he lost a pre-season game.

A quarterback who is the equivalent of Philip Rivers in his prime ...... that's what we need.

Rivers was not mobile, Anthony Richardson is mobile ...... so if Anthony Richardson can be 80-85% of the quarterback that Philip Rivers was, add the mobility, and this team could consistently win between 11 and 13 games year in and year out.


Oh yeah ...... a head coach that was not a complete imbecile would also help.

Wentz was clearly not it going forward, so the Colts were quick to part ways with him, and went the veteran route again with former Falcons’ quarterback Matt Ryan, following the same path that helped the Colts make the playoffs in 2020. The article does indeed have 3 major errors, especially the one about Ballard. On numerous occasions, I have pointed out that Ballard was intent on building a roster that was not overly-dependent on a superstar QB.

That's why I specifically only included the highlighted portion, and not the rest of it ...... the difference between the 2020 offensive line that Philip Rivers played behind was the antitheses of the offensive line that Matt Ryan (and later in the season, Nick Foles) played behind in 2022. Seeing Nick Foles convulsing on the ground while the Giants' defensive lineman celebrated the sack by bird-flapping right next to him encapsulated the 2022 Colts' offensive line's entire season.
