I guess Jon will need to have a pretty damn good 6 game stretch here.
Keep his ass on the bench until week 12. He needs to prove he's in football shape and show he can function in the offense. |

I’m seriously starting to dislike this guy. |
Don’t know the guy myself but maybe he puts the financial stability of his family above making us happy. I want him on the field for us or a trade for a number one draft choice. Personally it isn’t my money, we have plenty under the cap and we give contract extensions to it seems like everyone else on the team (guard, snapper, linebacker-its a long list). Find a way Irsay/Ballard and don’t let your damn egos make this impossible.

Everyone has an opinion but none of these ‘reporters’ have spoken to anyone who is directly involved. To me nobody knows nothin until I hear it from JT, his agent, Ballard or Irsay. Since none of them are saying shit I’m assuming they are trying to work it out. Contract negotiations are always messy
|
These guys are working off hearsay but the only thing I can objectively point to is how little has been vocalized by Taylor's camp.
Off the top of my head I don't remember a player/agent advising they absolutely would not play for the team or try to address/correct public perception that they had a personal problem with the organization they're currently in negotiations with (Chris Jones, for example). I don't get the vibe they care about what the organization and fan base take from this. This seems to be personal on the surface level but I will certainly concede that I'm obviously not privy to the intimate conversations between the parties at play. At this point it's hard to believe it's purely about his compensation. Nothing he's done other than a 5 second clip on Instagram is helping him out value wise, even if Indy let him walk after this season without franchising him. |

Whether this is true or not, I will repeat my earlier "shit" take!:D
Ballard needs to try to fix this, unless JT has a career threatening injury that he is trying to hide by getting into this contract dispute, he needs to at least attempt to talk some sense into JT! If JT does suit up and give full effort and have some really good performances and the team has some level of success, he should be offered a fair extension above just franchising him twice which is what I think he is afraid will happen! |

Shit ta ...... no, just kidding. o |
Been through 4 games. Is there anyone on this board who doesn’t want to see AR and JT line up in the same backfield? There appear to be zero offers for him, either he shows up or he doesn’t play. I’m hoping he shows up and the Colts extend him after he shows he is healthy. Damn that backfield will be exciting to see.

Taylor and Leonard. 2 years ago, before the injury bug hit them both, they were the cornerstone of the offense and defense. Build your team around these two and anything is possible. If they can't return to their former selves, it's a fucking shame.

At the risk of being a douchey self-promoter... I felt like I must have posted this thought in the past, so I dug it up...

As sour as JT has turned me over the past few months... I hope he's healthy and spends the next 12 weeks (at least) earning that contract from Ballard. Just getting in the locker room with the guys can flip emotions. |

(OCTOBER 15th) Taylor only has 37 yards rushing on 14 games in his first 2 games so far this season ...... I suspect that as the season progresses that he may flourish. o |

(ONE WEEK LATER) In addition to rushing for 75 yards on 18 carries, Taylor also caught 3 passes for 45 yards today ...... it was clearly his best game yet. o |

It's amazing how the Colts scored 38 points on this Cleveland defense despite the turnovers and refs. |

(TWO WEEKS LATER) Taylor had his 2nd consecutive excellent game, rushing for 95 yards on only 12 carries (7.9 Yards Per Carry.) https://www.espn.com/nfl/boxscore/_/gameId/401547507 I believe that the question has been answered as to whether or not he has completely recovered from his ankle surgery. o |

Lost in the salary cap rise is the fact that JT’s contract now looks very affordable. I am glad we have him under contract for the next few years.
