I read somewhere that Shaq somehow threw Bradly under the bus. Did I misread that or does anybody have more info? I watched part of his interview with Mcafee and Shaq never mentioned Bradley?

He was talking about coming back too early, said he was playing on a dead leg and couldn't feel anything on his left side. He said something like, "I wish I had someone to tell me this is not good for you, let's sit you and get healed" and that's why he was glad Saturday came along.

Maybe that? I mean, you could take it as talking about Reich, Bradley, or both I guess.

*Oh, may also be talking about when he said to give Saturday a full off-season, give him his own coaching staff... Maybe that, too? Not sure.

***Just listened to the whole interview. He definitely called out the coaches towards the end of the interview. Saying he could go to a teammate and tell him he needs to stay in his lane or hustle more, and then a coach would come up afterwards and tell the same player that it was good effort. Basically made it sound like the coaches were too soft, not challenging the players enough in various way. Again, could've mean Reich, Bradley, or both.

All the more reason to trade him to Chicago and re-sign Okereke.

Oldcolt 02-11-2023 08:06 PM

Why on earth would Chicago want Shaq? The dude needs to prove he can play somewhere near where he was a few years ago before anyone will take him and his 20 million dollar price tag. To be clear I think he will be worth it but I sure wouldn't take him at this price if I didn't have to. Huge gamble.

Never stopped Ballard from getting Wentz and Ryan!:D

In whose defensive scheme was Shaquille Leonard a 3 time All-Pro? The head coach of the Chicago Bears, Matt Eberflus? Interesting.

apballin 02-12-2023 12:35 PM

Dammit I missed it by 1 day, I should’ve known Irsay would drop it on Super Bowl Sunday

ChaosTheory 02-12-2023 12:59 PM

So unless he pulls a McDaniels-style flake out, it looks all but official.

Colts-Eagles-Chargers connection again.

Still won’t be official until 10:37am tomorrow!:D

Brylok 02-12-2023 08:08 PM

Steichen would be a moron to leave the Eagles for this dysfunctional Colts team. I imagine Sirianni would tell him the same thing. Our best hope is Raheem Morris. It's either him or Jeff Saturday.
Team Raheem. Rah 🔥

It’s going to be Steichen, he wants to be a head coach, more money, more power….when it comes to coaching, everyone wants a head job!:D

Unless he is one of those weirdos that believes in himself. You know, thinks he is a winner himself. And I think it is bullshit to call the Colts dysfunctional. If Irsay were to continue to put his hands into the stew then maybe yes. But it appears he will not. Had a bad year and when you do everything and everyone looks like shit. As you know things can turn around quick in the NFL.

You are most likely correct. The vast majority of head coaches that are hired fail. I just hope we get lucky. Would not put any money on it though (and that stands for every head coach hire made this off season)

Ballard is on the thinnest of ice and honestly probably shouldn't be there anymore. The young, successful head coach probably won't pay him much mind. More the peril.

If Steichen is mostly responsible for Hurts turn around…I hope they let him pick the guy he wants to work with. If he wants someone like Hurts, if won’t be Levis, probably Young or Richardson?

I'm not qualified for QB draft speculation and I won't do it. None look promising to me tho.

I’m not qualified either but I refuse to let that stop me. I have to believe they won’t all be busts…the question is which one breaks through?

Brylok 02-12-2023 10:30 PM

I just don't want my favorite NFL team to suck... and it looks like they're going to. The only time they were successful was when Bill Polian was in charge and Jim just signed the paychecks. We're in disarray and there's no solution in sight. More trouble is more likely.

Brylok 02-12-2023 10:52 PM

Goodnight, y'all. Lord help our Colts and please keep Jeff Saturday away. As far away as possible, as with the rest of our former players.

Nothing has happened since Reich got fired.

1. If the injured players heal and are ready for next year, its a plus.
2. If all the Colts do is draft the best player available, its a plus
3. Ballard balances the contracts and signs some FA, its a plus.
4. Ballard finds a creative HC who lets the asst coaches do their job, see KC

There is probably more. But nothing has happened to think its going to hell in a handcart

You lead with two "ifs" and two "Ballards". Good luck with that indeed.

And you should stay away from liquor and sharp objects. Every thing in life has an element of chance.

Ballard has shown he can find talent. He has a better record than anyone here, and there is no way to judge a draft until several seasons have passed. The Colts have a better chance of having a turn around season than anyone in here winning the Powerball lotto.

Baseball is starting up, winter is half over, and cheer up. Every team but Pittsburgh has a chance.

Oldcolt 02-13-2023 10:38 AM

I believe we are on the correct track, with Ballard in charge not Jimmy. He screwed the choice last time and didn't do it the same way. He learns from his screw ups. He is a stand up man in my opinion and we could do a lot worse. It looks to me that Jim made the difficult decision that had to be made, Reich just wasn't effective anymore here. He then turned the team over to the professionals. That they still love them some Reich is shown by the fact that they went to his coaching tree to find the new head coach. Different personality (we need that-not that Reich's way won't work-it never really got a chance with a new qb each year) but from the same basic tree.

They have some young guys with talent. Nothing at the AAA pirates team. Thats the Indy minor league club. Victory field is a great venue, wasted by the Pirates.

The Reds owners always sell off the talent. Terrible owners. We used to go to old Bush stadium a lot when I was elementary/high school. I've only been to Victory Field a couple of times, but it's pretty nice. Who was the last valuable player for the Indians/Pirates? Josh Bell?

Living in Cincy and being a Reds fan I can say the Reds are still at least a year and probably more like 2 away from potentially being good. Most of the top prospects are projected to be in ~AA. Although De La Cruz ended in AA last year, so he might start out the season in AAA and work his way up to the majors by the end of the season I suppose.

They do have a good trio of young pitches, although Ashcraft sucked after coming back off the IL which is concerning, but the back of the rotation is an unknown. I also think the Reds will struggle at the plate until earlier mentioned prospects arrive, and aside from Alexis Diaz, who has the stuff to be a great closer, the BP will probably still suck.
