Apparently the Jags interview went well for Eberflus. He is one of the finalists for the job and will move on to another round of interviews.

Jaguars will conduct the second interview in Indianapolis, with owner Shad Khan making the short trip over from his home in Illinois. Eberflus’ defenses have been Top 10 in takeaways and against the run all four of his years with the Colts.

Eberflus is also a finalist for the Bears gig. He has a second interview scheduled with Chicago as well.

After learning more about the Bears job, Dodds withdrew his name from the running to be Chicago GM.

Yes, I want to keep Dodds. He probably wants input on the coach and I wonder if he likes being stuck with the QB.

Do teams get comp picks for coaches and executives who get promotions elsewhere?

Yes, for minority coaches and executives.

https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-owners-...-coaches-execs

Quote:

NFL owners approved a proposal that will reward teams for developing minority coaches and front office executives who go on to become head coaches and general managers for other organizations, Commissioner Roger Goodell announced Tuesday.

The measure is subject to NFL Players Association approval, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Teams that lose a minority coach or executive to a head coach or general manager job with another team will receive a third-round compensatory pick for two consecutive years, per Pelissero. If a team loses a minority coach and an executive to HC and GM roles, that club will receive a third-round compensatory pick for three consecutive years.

According to the resolution, a team is eligible to receive draft pick compensation if the candidate in question has been "employed by the employer-club for a minimum of two years." There can be no break in employment between teams.

NFL executive VP of football operations Troy Vincent said this resolution compliments "the overall collection of things we're doing to try to increase mobility among, in particular Black coaches, and females as well."

Earlier this year, the NFL expanded the Rooney Rule to require additional interviews of minority candidates.

Colts are acting like Eberflus will get the Bears or Jags job. Think he prefers the Jags job. Got a potential franchise QB, hard to blame him

Who then do they replace him with?

Could Robert Mathis even be considered for a job like this?

Dodds interviewed for the Steelers GM job - their current GM is leaving the position after the NFL draft.

The Steelers have interviewed three more candidates as they expand their search for a general manager to replace Kevin Colbert.

Team president Art Rooney II interviewed all three candidates when he was in Mobile, Ala., this week for the Senior Bowl — Indianapolis Colts assistant general manager Ed Dodds, Los Angeles Chargers director of player personnel JoJo Wooden and Tennessee Titans vice president of player personnel Ryan Cowden.

Colbert and coach Mike Tomlin were also in Mobile and likely participated in the interview sessions.

Even though the search for Colbert’s replacement has begun, Rooney said it is likely that person will not be hired until Colbert officially steps down after the draft.

Yep. Owner is patient, supportive, doesn’t make big changes often, and not too meddling. Tomlin is fine and Dodds could replace him in near future.

The Eagles plan to interview Morocco Brown this week for a high-ranking front office position:

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...king-position/
Quote:

Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman is remaking the front office.

After interviewing Steelers pro scouting coordinator Brandon Hunt over the weekend, the Eagles will interview Colts director of scouting Morocco Brown this week, Geoff Mosher of insidethebirds.com reports. The job is unspecified other than being “a high-ranking executive position.”

The Eagles reportedly hired Charles Walls from the Browns as their new director of player personnel, Senior scouts Ian Cunningham and Brandon Brown left for promotions as assistant General Managers with the Bears and Giants, respectively. Vice president of football operations Catherine Raiche is expected to join the Browns.

The Eagles reportedly fired director of scouting operations Casey Weidl as well as player personnel executive T.J. McCreight, southwest area scout Shawn Heinlen and scouting assistant Evan Pritt. Senior executive Tom Donahoe also is leaving the organization.

Brown interviewed for the Steelers’ General Manager job and earlier this offseason had an interview with the Bears before they hired Ryan Poles as their new G.M.

Brown joined the Colts in 2016 and also has worked in Cleveland, Washington and Chicago after breaking into the league as an intern with the Colts in 2000.

If you are known for having people that get promoted and hired by other companies for better positions. You get better candidates wanting to work for your company. Something my previous company has yet to figure out.
