The Colts were looking to add to their TE group. They placed a waiver claim for TE Kahale Warring.
Ultimately the Cheats had the higher priority order so New England was able to successfully claim him from the Texans. https://twitter.com/FieldYates/statu...04596833816582 Quote:

One of Ballard's favorite trading partners - the New York Jets - has a bit of a need now as well with a few of their players going down with an injury. |

The Colts and Jets have previously made a trade with very similar circumstances - the Nate Hairston trade. The Jets were high on the waiver priority order that offseason but they wanted to make sure that they acquired Hairston. The Jets agreed to send a conditional 6th round draft pick to the Colts for Hairston. I don't know what type of playing time conditions were attached to the trade - Hairston only played in about 35% of the Jets defensive snaps the following season - but the Colts returned the 6th round pick back to the Jets. In the end, the Colts traded Hairston to the Jets for nothing. |

The Colts placed LT Eric Fisher on the COVID list today. That move opened up a roster spot and the team signed TE Andrew Vollert for the last preseason game. https://twitter.com/Colts/status/1430914240727113729 Quote:

Big Q joins Eric Fisher on the COVID list. Hopefully this doesn't affect his rehab too much. https://twitter.com/Colts/status/143...7Ctwgr%5Etweet Quote:

I'm not so proud of this organization right now. |

This is already costing us. How nice is it going to be when we lose the left side of our line because of COVID protocols during the regular season? For a team that has big aspirations and wants not to miss even a tiny thing that could hurt our chances of winning this is idiotic.
