He's sparing Andrew Luck from hurting his yards-per-carry statistic. I hate the fact that kneel-downs count towards the stats, both for the individual player AND for the overall team rushing statistics ........ they tend to really skew the picture, especially for perennially good teams who are often leading by 10 or more points in the final minutes of a game. o |

Brisette had 4 kneel-downs for -4 yards today. Prior to those kneel-downs, the Colts had 33 carries for 224 yards, good for 6.8 yards per carry. After the kneel-downs, they had 37 carries for 220 yards, good for 5.9 yards per carry. That's almost a full yard less per carry, and that's annoying enough for me to want them to consider changing the rule/statistics. o |

To put this game into perspective - it was Buffalo with Anderson.

I'm very pleased with this effort. As the OL improves, I see Luck getting his mojo back. His arm is 100%, his accuracy is getting better each week but most importantly, he's feeling more and more comfortable back there. A few more games with this kind of pass protection and he won't be forcing any throws, and he'll begin thinking about more down the field plays.
Things are looking up. |
