As I said leading up to the draft, I’m okay with the Nelson pick even though I would have gone a different direction.

That being said, it will look bad if Hernandez or Daniels are there in Rd2.

Look, I think it was a stupid pick. I’m on record and there is not much else to say. Shit goes on. I’m amazed at how pissy some of you get because I’m not sucking Ballard’s dick for addressing something I think he should have already addressed. Or for valuing top ten picks over cap space - which is apparently fucking retarded too. Time to move the fuck on and see how this shit goes.
Not sure where Colts stand currently with the 89% of cap that must be spent over a 4 year period. That being said with last years draft, this years draft and the minor FA signings over two years Ballard will have a much better idea as to where he should be investing FA monies and will actually be forced to over the course of the next two off seasons. While I would have liked that difference maker on defense I'm more comfortable with someone coming to my team that is going to be hungry and working their way to the big payday than someone who just got a big payday. I've seen what FA o-linemen did to Luck for 5 years, worked out swell for Luck.

I wonder how much the Jags d line factored into Ballard’s choice of Nelson. Now the Colts might stand a chance against them.
