Notice it says "Hall of Fame" at the top. Watch any game he played against Dwight Freeney. Freeney regularly destroyed him.
As they say in boxing, styles make fights. Freeney's stature, speed, and spin move were a nightmare to Ogden. They played right into his weakest traits.

Reggie and Dwight will have to wait another year.

The players that are part of this year's Hall of Fame class are:

Ronde Barber (3rd Year as Finalist)

Darrelle Revis (1st Year as Finalist)

Joe Thomas (1st Year as Finalist)

Zach Thomas (4th Year as Finalist)

DeMarcus Ware (2nd Year as Finalist)

The other finalists were:

Jared Allen (3)
Willie Anderson (2)
Dwight Freeney (1)
Devin Hester (2)
Torry Holt (4)
Andre Johnson (2)
Albert Lewis (1)
Reggie Wayne (4)
Patrick Willis (2)
Darren Woodson (1)

Looking back at some other WR's - it took Tim Brown 6 times to get inducted and Andre Reed 8 times.

In 2012 when Andrew Luck was a rookie, Reggie Wayne broke both the 100-reception mark (106), and the 1,000-plus yards receiving (1,355) categories ...... that was especially impressive, considering that it was his 12th season in the league and he was 34 years-old at the time.

Ware deserved to get in before Freeney. Just stating the facts. Peppers may deserve to be in before Freeney next year.

In baseball, there have been seasons when nobody was elected to the Hall-off-Fame. That's because you must get 75% of the votes in order to be elected, no matter what. So in 1945, 1946, 1950, 1958, 1960, 1971, 1996, 2013, and 2021, nobody was elected.

A long time ago, I saw/heard that football had a policy in which at least one player MUST go to the Hall-of-Fame every year, regardless of the percentages gathered by each player ...... although their overall policy is actually a little stricter than baseball, because you needed 80% of the votes to get in under normal circumstances. If nobody gets 80%, then the highest vote gatherer gets inducted. I believe that that happened at least one times some years ago.
