And I don't want to sign a QB like Kap or anyone else just for the even 4 or 5 games Luck might be out. Just play through it, do the best we can, focus on improving the D and look to the future.

If they were a serious contender, sure, sign Kap. Given the state of the roster, the organization will be better off with a semi-tank of an extra 1-2 losses.

The team really is 1-2 years away, at best, from serious contention, so no need to make a desperate move to win a few games. Remember how the Kerry Collins move worked out? |

Ensured a few losses at the beginning of the season to help lock down the first overall pick?

I remember his "concussion" that put him out for the season.

This team has the 27th rank overall roster. It's complete garbage.
Don't think we'll make 8 wins. |

The most "We do what we do" Colts way for this season to go:
Luck doesn't play until week 4. In the first three weeks, Pagano goes with the veteran Tolzien, backed by a heaping helping of coachspeak about how he needs the veteran's eyes out there on the field as a second head coach (because the first coach isn't very good). The offense is predictably stuck in neutral all three weeks except for a few "blind squirrel finds a nut" plays that keep the score close. Undaunted, Pags gives up on his line of thinking near the end of week 3's game and decides to go with a QB who can actually make plays with his feet when the receivers, again predictably, can't seem to consistently get separation. The O-line yields several sacks that even the '98 Broncos line would've been hard-pressed to hold their blocks long enough for such incompetent route design. Anarchy reigns by the time Luck comes back with the team at 0-3 or possibly 1-2. He's as stale as a 3 PM donut at Dunkin Donuts and looks like a guy who hasn't played since December--thatsthejoke.gif--anyway, this feels like a 5-11 or 6-10 season. |

5-11... slow start, still can't block shit, Luck's life in danger
still can't put on pressure. Still can't run the ball. |
