Colts signed free agent WR Isaiah Ford
We have signed free agent WR Isaiah Ford and John Hurst and waived WR Kekoa Crawford and DT Caeveon Patton.

I saw a snippet where Ballard said Julio was never on Colts radar, but TY was still a strong possibility to return.

The thing that I liked about Ford is that he has 63 career catches in 32 games.
Not a lot of depth receivers in the NFL average 2 catches a game. Sure, they might get 4 or 5 in one game if he is hot that game but then can go long stretches without any. 2021: 10 games with targets, catches in 7 of them. Catch rate 70.6% 2020: 09 games with targets, catches in 9 of them. Catch rate 63.6% 2019: 08 games with targets, catches in 6 of them. Catch rate 65.7% I like the consistency of actual producing in most games he was thrown at. I am not saying he is world beating and there are probably reasons that he was still available and not on a roster at the start of training camp. We is looking at WR4 at best. But for a depth WR? I like his performance. |

It will sound sentimental, but I would rather have TY over Jones. He has more personal investment in and to the team. He would be good for the rookie receivers.
