o

3 really stupid mistakes that the Chiefs made late in the 4th quarter ........

1) l Getting burned on the fake punt. The Chiefs were up by 18 points with less than 7 minutes to play in the 4th quarter, and they were stupid enough to have one of their 11 players 60 yards downfield, waiting for the punt ........ that was flat-out retarded.

2) l The Chiefs' running back going out of bounds on 1st down after the Titans cut the lead to 35-24 ........ with an 11-point lead and less than 4 minutes to play in the 4th quarter, you DO NOT go out of bounds and/or throw an incomplete pass ........ that was essentially a gifted time-out to the Titans, and they were only bailed out by the interference call that occurred on 3rd down, 2 plays later.

3) l Later on that same drive, Patrick Mahomes pulled an Eli Manning by throwing the ball away for an incomplete pass on 3rd down, which again essentially gifted the Titans a time-out ........ the Chiefs were going to punt the ball anyway, so you ABSOLUTELY take the sack there to keep the clock running and/or make the Titans use their final time out.

Boneheaded plays like that usually don't cost a team when they have an 18-point lead with less than 7 minutes to play in the 4th quarter ........ but if the Super Bowl is a closer contest than today's AFC Championship game was, it could wind up being very costly to them if Andy Reid doesn't seriously get in their faces about those glaring mistakes that were made today.

Right now this game is a bloodbath. Niners dominating in every facet.

San Fran absolutely nailed the Shanahan hire and Garoppolo trade.

49ers are killing the Packers. 27-0. Packers cannot stop the run to save their lives.

If SF can play like this, they will beat KC. I thought they'd win this game, but not utterly dominate it.

34-7 SF with 4:49 left in the 3rd. Garoppolo has only thrown 6 passes. 😳
Unreal...

And people snickered and made fun of the John Lynch hire when it happened.

We have no QB since Luck screwed us over. Maybe we should tank for 5 or 6 years like the 49ers did and build the lines and defense. Nah, the team would probably fold and move away before that happened. We're back to the early 90s y'all. Lord help our Colts

It wasn't the QB that won the game for SF, it was the zone blocking scheme originally designed by Shanahan senior. Colts have a strong OL, they're not as far away as they were in the early 90's. If they can strengthen the DL, get a decent pass rush, the DBs will improve proportionately. They have a good nucleus, so the only way they would lose me as a fan would be to tank for a few years.

You're probably right, Ed. I'd had a few too many when I posted that. I guess I was depressed about the state of the team we all thought would make a playoff run this season. We'll have to see how it goes
