That extra year he plans to play, I'd say, makes the Colts breathe a little easier about getting a possible replacement this year.

One of the biggest dominoes of Castonzo's return: Now the Colts don't have to heavily consider the offensive tackle position in the first round of the draft.

At 13th overall, still thinking WR, QB + DL are the positions of greatest need.

The Colts were the only team in the NFL to start the same five offensive linemen in every game for 2019.

With Anthony Castonzo's two-year extension, they will now enter 2020 with the same starting OL for the third straight year. Rare continuity and an excellent group.

Awesome news! This deal should make Castonzo somewhere between the 4th to 6th top paid OT in the league. That is a fair evaluation IMO.

Anybody know where this leaves us from a cap standpoint? I would like to lock up Kelly and Mack as well.

The Colts will still have plenty of cap space to work with. Prior to signing Castonzo, the Colts had about $81MM in cap space.

He is not. Castonzo has been sneaky reliable good, maybe never the best but always very good.

Not a top-5 OLT ever year.

Top-10 / Top-15 but not top 5. He is very good and I am glad he is back for at least 2 more years. But he is not a Joe Thomas type top LT every year.

That said, my hope is that out 2nd round picks this year would still be WR and OT with as TE in the 3rd round.

Long term QB can be gotten next season after signing a vet to a 1-year deal in 2021 (Maj Rivers if he performs well this year which I suspect he will.)

DT depth, O-Line depth, Safety depth and WR depth round out my wish list for the draft.
