Default Colts are one of NFL's most improved teams this offseason, Pro Football Focus says

Colts fans might be getting antsy about the team's quiet offseason, but Pro Football Focus says they should be happy with what general manager Chris Ballard has done.

According to PFF's offseason improvement index, which predicts a team's increased percentage of wins due to the value of players' wins above replacement, the Colts are the second-most improved team in football this season — just behind the Denver Broncos, who added Russell Wilson.

Naturally, the bulk of this jump comes from replacing Carson Wentz with Matt Ryan at quarterback. Other moves the Colts have made this offseason: Trading Rock Ya-Sin for Yannick Ngakoue, signing Mo Allie-Cox, Zaire Franklin, Tyquan Lewis and Matt Pryor to extensions, and signing Armani Watts.

Chris Ballard said he knows there is more work to do. Owner Jim Irsay has hinted at the possibility of signing a defensive veteran "that excites some."

What other moves the Colts make remain to be seen. But, whether it feels like it or not, Indianapolis has done more than most teams to improve itself as the NFL Draft gets closer.
